Italian mezzo (1815-?), appeared in the World Premiere production of Meyerbeer's L'Africaine. Unsigned Carte-de-Visite (CDV), shown as herself, by photographer Sarony, New York. Size is 2.5 x 4 inches, in excellent condition.

Hungarian soprano (1828-1899), unsigned Carte-de-Visite (CDV) of the artist by photographer Mora, New York. Size is 2.4 x 4.1 inches, in excellent condition.

Star Swedish opera singer (1820-1887), one of the most regarded singers of the 19th century and extraordinarily popular in her time. An original and unsigned Carte-de-Visite (CDV) of the soprano, shown as herself, size is 2.4 x 4.1 inches, very slight crease on top right and bottom right corners, otherwise in excellent condition.

Amazing set of 6 original large/extra-large cabinet photos, with singers in custom for the premiere of Lohengrin at the Paris Grand Opera, 1891!. Photos are: in 5.25 x 8.5 inches: Ernest van Dyck (1861-1913) as Lohengrin, Rose Caron (1857-1930) as Elsa, and Charles Douiallier (1860-?) as Telramund. In extra-large/imperial size, 7.5 x 12.5 inches: Caroline Fierens (1867-1913) as Ortrud, Jean-Francois Delmas (1861-1933) as King Heinrich and Rose Caron (1857-1930) as Elsa. All in very fine/excellent condition, all photos by Benque & Co., Paris, all unsigned. A very scarce, rare photo document of Wagner operas in Paris.

8 unsigned mini-CDV's of noteworthy late nineteenth century operatic performers, taken from the collection of Felix Potin in France, circa 1900. Singers include such legendary interpreters as Marie Delna, Jean Louis Lasalle, Marie-Gabrielle Krauss, Jean-François Delmas, Nelly Melba, Adelina Patti, Francisco Tamagno, and Victor Maurel. Each mini-CDV is 1.5 x 3 inches, in excellent condition. Italian operatic contralto (1833 – 1919), one of Rossini's favorite singers. In her later years she became a singing teacher at the Naples Conservatory and also taught privately, including among her pupils Toti Dal Monte and Rosa Raisa. Unsigned vintage cabinet photo, shown in role. Size is 5.25 x 8.5 inches, in excellent condition.   

Italian operatic contralto (1833 – 1919) and Soprano (1835-1872), sisters, and two of Rossini's favorite singers who often performed together. Unsigned carte d'visite, caricatured image showing them in role in Rossini's Semiramide. Size is 2.5 x 4 inches, vintage item in excellent condition. 

Set of 2 unsigned CDV's of the "Mariani sisters", Maddalena Mariani-Masi, Italian soprano (1850-1916) who created the title role of Ponchielli's La Gioconda at its world premiere performances at La Scala, Milan in 1876 and her sister Flora Mariani (dates unknown). Each is sized 2.5 x 4.1 inches, very slight paper loss on top right of Maddalena Mariani-Masi photo, otherwise in excellent condition. Attractive vintage items, not sold separately.

French soprano, debutant at the Opéra in 1875, and lover of the French officer Ferdinand Esterhazy (1847-1923). Nice cabinet photograph of her from 1878 by photographer Ferdinand Mulnier (Paris). Size is 4.2 x 9.2 inches, ink writing over the bottom, big crack over the left border affecting the image, otherwise in good condition.
