Italian-born conductor (1808-1884) and composer who achieved success in England. 3-bar autograph music quote from a setting of Psalm 30 signed by him with a short quote. Size is 4 x 2.75 inches, in excellent condition.

British composer, pianist, and conductor (1852-1935), known primarily for lighter orchestral pieces. Autograph note signed, 4.5 x 7 inches, mounted onto larger album page of 8 x 11 inches, in excellent condition.

William George Cusins, English composer, pianist, violinist and conductor (1833-1893), was also organist and music teacher. Cusins toured extensively through Europe as a pianist and as a composer. Autograph music quote signed, dated by him in 1879, inscribed, from an unknown piece. Size is 7 x 4.5 inches, mounting traces on verso, in excellent condition

Scottish-born German composer and pianist (1864-1932), who created the famous opera Tiefland. Autograph note in German on a postcard signed by him, dated in  Berlin, 1909, to Wilhelm Barlösius in Berlin, writing that he unfortunately won’t be able to meet him. Size is 5.4 x 3.5 inches, some dirt, in overall very good condition.

German-born American conductor (1862-1950) and composer, is best remembered today as the long-time director of the New York Symphony Orchestra.  Printed score for his ballad for baritone and men's chorus titled "Danny Deever", signed by him on the front cover.  Size is 9.25 x 12.1 inches, 12 pages (including covers), in very good condition.

French composer (1790-1853) and dramatist, author of hit songs including "Le Pardon" and "Dormez" and the famous Leçon de valse du petit François (1834) sung in cabarets for over a century and two opéras. Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by her, dated in Paris, February 7, 1878, addressed to the director of the Théâtre de l'Odéon Félix Duquesnel (1832-1915), concerning the pupil Firmin Delille: "...ancien élève de [Pierre-François] Beauvallet, désire obtenir une audition à l'Odéon...". At the fourth page, autograph note by Delille concerning de Beauplan.  Open size is 10.6 x 8.3 inches, 2 written pages in one folded sheet, letterhead from "Ministère de L'Instruction", folds, creases, dirt stains, in overall good condition.

French composer (1861-1949). Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by him, dated in Paris, December 15, 1938, where he addresses a colleague: “…grâce certainement à votre puissante influence la Société nationale de musique vient, cette année encore, d’être gratifiée d’une généreuse subvention…”.  Size is 5.4 x 8.4 inches, 1 written page, stamped seal, Societé Nationale de Musique letterhead, central fold, some light creases, in overall very good condition.

Portuguese conductor and composer (1869-1924). Album page signed by the composer on August 1923 with a 3-bar music quote from an unknown piece. Size is 8.6 x 6.9 inches, minor stains, in excellent condition.

French count and composer (1831-1916), and descendant of the politician and writer Count Joseph Chérade de Montbron (1768-1854). Set of two autograph letters in French signed by him, one of them dated December 19, 1874, addressing the harpist Coraly Gatayes (1840-1913): “…voulez vous me permettre, en souvenir du plaisir que j’ai eu à vous entendre sur la harpe, de vous envoyer une recueil de mélodies pour le chant…”.  Different sizes, lengths, and conditions (see scans provided for a detailed view). French composer (1848-1900) and conductor. Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by him, to a gentleman, concerning an upcoming concert: "...Je mis tout à votre disposition – Nous n'avons qu'à vous entendre pour le programme et le choix des artistes. Voulez-vous, quad vous passez par Montmartre que nous causions aux 4 d'Arts. Mille amities pour Richepin et pour vous...".   Total open size is 9 x 6.9 inches, 1 written page, creases, folds, dust stains, in very good condition. German composer (1911-1995), whose works include educational chamber music in modern style, resembling Hindemith. Two autograph music quotes signed by him with a short text and dated 1984 on a music sheet; one of them with 2 bars from his Kammersinfonie (1947) and the other with 5 bars from his Horn sonate (1978).  Size is 7.8 x 5.75 inches, in excellent condition.

American composer (1873-1969) and organist; creator of numerous sacred works.  Autograph music quote with 6 bars from his "Storm King Mountain" Symphony, signed and dated by him in 1931.  Size is 5.8 x 3.2 inches, overall age-toning, otherwise in very good condition.

Portuguese composer (1874-?). Autograph letter in Portuguese signed by him, dated October 14, 1922, mentioning some of his accomplishments and accolades as a composer and some of his works.  Size  Size is 8.4 x 10.6 inches, 1 page, translation not included, central fold, in excellent condition. German composer (1878-1942), musicologist, and music critic. Typed letter in German signed by him, dated 1922, whereas General Secretary of the Festivals Internationaux à Zurich, Draber wrote to the director of La Scala in Milan [Angelo Scandiani] inviting him to the concerts organized by the Comité in May.  Size is 8.2 x 10.8 inches, central fold, storage holes, in excellent condition.

Argentine pianist (1882-1925) and composer, a pupil of Alberto Williams.  Autograph quote with 2 bars of music from Wagner's Siegfried, signed and dated by him in Buenos Aires, 1917.  Size is 5.5 x 3.6 inches, in very good condition.

Austrian violinist (1850-1925) and composer, who founded and led a successful salon orchestra in the tradition of the Strauss orchestra. 7-bar autograph music quote from the composer's aria "Du nur allein" Op.122, signed by him, dated in Vienna, May 4, 1915. Size is 4.4 x 3.3 inches, some dirt, in overall excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED is an autograph note signed, dated 1916, to a theater director concerning a waltz. 

German composer (1901-1983), a prolific author of operas, ballets, and orchestral works. Autograph music quote on a card signed by the composer with 4 bars from an unknown piece, dated in 1966 (apparently in Hartford, Connecticut).

German-born composer (1824-1893), musical director and educator who worked mostly in the USA.  Signed card, size is 4.1 x 2.6 inches, in excellent condition.

Austrian composer (1918-1996), mostly known for his operas. Autograph quote on a card signed and inscribed by the composer with 3 bars of music from his work "Dantons Tod" (1947), dated in 1970 plus some lyrics below and a short text on the verso as well.   Size is 5 x 3 inches, in excellent condition.

Austrian composer (1918-1996), known mostly for his operas and jazz music. Autograph music quote with 7 bars from his work "Capriccio" signed and inscribed by him, dated in 1979.  Size is 8.5 x 5.5 inches, in excellent condition.

Austrian composer (1874-1949). Autograph note in German on a postcard with his portrait by Anna Walt, signed by him to Herrn Viener clarifying that he was born on March 12, 1874 in Vienna. Size is 3.5 x 5.5 inches, evident crease over the lower-right corner, in excellent condition.

American composer (1872-1952), conductor, educator, and music publisher. A composer part of the Indianist movement, his works reflect his interest in a personal, esoteric form of spirituality.  Typed letter to a fan, an important autograph collector, dated in New York, 1949. Typed on a page with his letterhead (his signature, printed in blue ink), signed in ink by him at the bottom. Size is 8 x 10 inches, 1 page, storage holes, background stain, in very good condition.

French composer (1872-1948), also known for his contributions to the Grove Dictionary of Music.  Handwritten signed postcard, written in French and sold untranslated. Size is 3.5 x 4.5 inches, slight rust (mostly on verso) and one small smudge on letter, otherwise in very good condition. 

German conductor and composer (1859-1939), a noted interpreter of Brahms' music. Set of 2 autograph letters signed by him: one of the is 1 page, dated in Kiel, 1881, size is 5.5 x 8.75 inches; the second one is written on a card, dated in Hamburg, 1885, size is 4.4 x 3.5 inches.  Both are written in German (sold untranslated), both in very good condition. American composer (1869-1945).  Printed scored for his song "Scandia", signed and inscribed by him on the back of the front cover, dated by him in Boston, 1944.  Size is 9 x 12 inches, 4 pages plus covers, ownership sticker on front cover, minor rust stains, in very good condition.

German composer (1909-2007), and an academic; pupil of Paul Hindemith at the Hochschule für Musik in Berlin. 5-bar autograph music quote on a music sheet signed by him with a short sentiment.  Size is 8.1 x 5.7 inches, in excellent condition.

French composer (1850-1938) and organist. Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by him, postmarked February 18, 1905, addressed to the poet and sculptor Georges Tattegrain (1845-1916), concerning a work in collaboration with the poet: “…Je travaille beaucoup notre cathédrale et je me fais un plaisir de vous annoncer que surtout depuis hier soir, je suis dans une très bonne vein de travail….si rien ne m’arrête, j’ai la confiances la plus complète dans la réussite de notre oeuvre…”. Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by him, dated August 24, no year indicated, addressed to the French conductor and composer Henri Defossé (1883-1956), conductor at the Opéra: “…Excusez ce retard à vous remercier pour le grand plaisir que vous m’avez fait, en nous donnant à ma femme et à moi l’occasion de voir et entendre ce ‘Boris Godounoff’ qui contient du génial à coté de certaines pages qui n’ont pas l’air d’être du même auteur (…) ce que je n’ai pas manqué de remarquer c’est votre façon de diriger, c’est clair, précis, souple et élégant…”  Size is 6.5 x 4.9 inches, 1 written page, folds, creases, dirt stains, jagged edges, in very good condition.

Belgian composer (1828-1908) and music critic, director of Brussels Conservatory. Autograph letter in Dutch signed by him in pencil on the back of his personal card, to a gentleman concerning an upcoming meeting, Size is 3.8 x 2.25 inches, in excellent condition.

American composer (1872-1946) and tenor.  Printed score of one of his songs signed and inscribed by him on front cover.  Size is 10.5 x 13.6 inches, 4 pages in total including covers, cracks and minor stains, in fair condition.  Rare!!

Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by him, no date mentioned, to a colleague: “…s’il vous manque encore de 1ers violon pour la fête de l’opéra, je vous recommanderai M. Lefaure, 1er Prix du Conservatoire, membre de la Société des concerts, et ancien 1er violon de l’Opéra…”.  Size is 5.5 x 8.3 inches, 1 written page, central fold, few creaes, overall dust and rust tone, in very good condition.

American composer (1853-1943), internationally famous for teaching the theory of composition. Lot of 3 autograph notes signed and 1 signed card, plus 3 handwritten envelopes, all dated between in 1932 and 1936. French female composer (1828-1907), an important composer of the Romantic era, having published under several pseudonyms. Autograph letter signed, in French, sold untranslated, 1 page. Size is 4.4 x 7 inches, central fold, in excellent condition.

American composer (1908-1989). Typed letter in English signed by him, dated August 20th, 1964 to his fellow’s wife Olive: «...We missed you and Jan at Scandia after last Saturday’s concert. It was truly a delightful and happy little gathering, and it would have been even more so could you have been there...». Size is 8.3 x 10.8 inches, 1 page, two horizontal folds, with letterhead, in overall excellent condition.

French composer (1844-1909). Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by him, dated June 23, 1870. Size is 7 x 8.5 inches, 3 written pages, evident stains, in overall good condition.

French operatic composer (1837-1904). Two autograph letters in French signed by him: one dated in Compiègne, November 8, 1858, and the other one from 1880 ca. Letters concern music publishing and acquaintances, one letter is addressed to the director of the Théâtre des Folies-Dramatiques in Paris Victor Blandin (1824-1898). We report two extracts as a sample: “…je vous envoi les dédicaces qui seront demain sur les trois partitions de Sophie Frandin et [Noémie]Vernon - Il est très important que ces trois dédicaces paraissent dans le courrier de Prével…”. ; “…Quelqu’un de mes amis qui a parlé de moi à M. Offenbach me previent qu’il est tout disposé à entendre mon opéra et à l’examiner avec moi…”.  SOLD TOGETHER, NOT SOLD SEPARATELY.

Austrian musicologist (1886-1960), who worked on behalf of the International Bruckner Society to the complete edition of Anton Bruckner’s symphonies and Masses. Autograph note in German signed by him, dated 1924, informing the schedule of the Music Department and the best time to request orientation. Size is 2.8 x 1.8 inches, no translation included, printed letterhead of the National Library, folds, in very good condition.

Card with 2 bars of music from his 1939 opera "Merry Mount" signed and inscribed by him with a short sentiment. Size is 5 x 3 inches, in very good condition.
