Enrico Caruso: Autographs & Memorabilia

Beautiful black-and-white photo postcard signed by him in Buenos Aires, 1915, and adding a long text in Italian on its verso dated June 5, 1915, addressed to a friend.  Size is 3.4 x 5.4 inches, blind-stamped on the front by photographer Zuretti & Fiorini, Buenos Aires, minor silvering, minor creases, in overall very good condition.

A very interesting and nice sepia-toned photograph signed by the star Italian tenor, shown with some other fellow singers (including Gabriella Besanzoni), in Havana, Cuba, 1920; mounted on cardboard.  Size is 6.4 x 4.25 inches, in excellent condition.

Signed postcard photograph, shown as Nemorino in Donizetti's L'Elisir D'Amore, a particularly celebrated role of his.  Size is 3.25 x 5.25 inches, slight silvering, otherwise in very good condition.  

Beautiful half-tone photograph on a photogravure by Mishkin, shown as Eleazar in Halevy's "La Juive" (which was his last role added to his repertoire), signed by the star Italian tenor at the bottom with the quote "here is another father!!!". Photograph is blind-stamped on the front by Carl De Nemethy. Size is 5.4 x 8.75 inches, crease over the top border and upper-left corner, stains over the lower border, otherwise in very good condition.

Super star Italian tenor (1873-1921), who was also an amateur caricaturist. Signed postcard photograph, containing both a photo image of himself super-imposed upon a self-drawn caricature, 2 bold and clear signatures, on both the left and right side of these images. Dated in 1903. Size is 3.5 x 5.5 inches, beautifully preserved in excellent condition. A very rare and unique item!

Super star Italian tenor (1873-1921), acclaimed at the major opera houses of Europe and America, for his interpretations in a wide variety of roles from the Italian and French repertoires. Additionally, he made approximately 260 commercially released recordings from 1902 to 1920. Beautiful painted portrait of him in unidentified role (possibly Riccardo in Verdi's Ballo in Maschera), signed by him to the bottom right of the image, dated in 1916. Size is 4.75 x 8.25 inches, solid cardboard, slight paper loss at far edges not affecting image and signature and mounting traces on verso, otherwise in very good condition.

Size is 3.5 x 5.5 inches, in excellent condition. 

Handwritten signed postcard signed by the star Italian tenor on both sides of the postcard, written in French and sold untranslated.  Postcard was from the Hotel Cecil, London, size is 3.5 x 4.5 inches, in excellent condition.  

Superstar Italian tenor (1873-1921), signed postcard showing a beautiful landscape with a female painter, his sentimental letter and inscription along with signature are on verso, composed in the Bronx, New York, signed only with his last name. ALSO INCLUDED: 2  centennial stamps issued in 1973 on the 100th anniversary of Caruso's birth. One of the centennial stamps is part of a postcard containing a painted image of him as the Duke in Verdi's Rigoletto, an image that is replicated on an additional stamp, total size of this item is 4 x 5.75 inches.  This same image on a stamp also appears on a 3.5 x 6.5 inch envelope which contains both another centennial stamp (without image) and an unsigned photo of Caruso, shown as himself. Each of these are in excellent condition, not sold separately. 

Superstar Italian tenor (1873-1921), signed postcard showing the Grand Opera House in Atlanta, Georgia, his sentimental letter and inscription along with signature are on verso, composed in the Bronx, New York, signed only with his last name, size is 3.5 x 5.5 inches, very slight paper loss on bottom left and right corners, otherwise in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED: a set of centennial stamps issued in 1973 on the 100th anniversary of Caruso's birth. One stamp containing an image of him as the Duke in Verdi's Rigoletto is mounted onto a 3.75 x 6.75 inch envelope which also contains an attractive drawing of Caruso as himself in honor of the centennial of his birth, as well as 2 centennial stamps without images.  Another 3.75 x 6.5 envelope has no images of Caruso but also contains 2 1973 commemorative stamps. Each of these are in excellent condition, not sold separately. 

Nice postcard signed by the star Italian tenor with a short sentiment, dated June 27, 1904.  Size is 5.5 x 3.5 inches, mounting traces on verso, otherwise in excellent condition.

Signed postcard with an image of Vienna including military officers and other people as well as major building structures in the background. Signed in Vienna, dated in 1907 with his full name. Size is 3.5 x 5.5 inches, some scotch tape residue on verso, otherwise in very good condition.   

Italian super star tenor (1873-1921) who was also an amateur caricaturist. Self-caricature drawn on the bottom right side of a signed postcard containing a photographic image of the Economic Ministry building in Montevideo, Uruguay, dated in Montevideo in 1903. His signature is just above his self-caricature. Sze is 3.5 x 5.5 inches, in very good condition.   

Italian librettist, writer and journalist (1853-1941), wrote librettos for Mascagni's L'Amico Fritz and Giordano's Mala Vita as well as a biography of the great Italian tenor Enrico Caruso published in 1938. Autograph letter signed, 2 pages, written on both sides of a 8.5 x 11 inch document, dated in Naples in 1922 and sent to the author of another Caruso biography congratulating him on his work. Composed in Italian and sold with a 2 page typed English translation, 8.25 x 11.75 inches, both documents in excellent condition. Rare historic item!

Vintage printed score for one of Enrico Caruso´s own songs, "Dreams of Long Ago", composed by Caruso, English version by Earl Carroll, published in 1912 by Leo Feist, New York. Cover with a photo of Caruso and a facsimile signature (printed, not real). A total of 6 pages including covers, 9.25 x 11.9 inches, in very good condition. 

Italian soprano (1874-1946) and first sentimental companion of the star tenor Enrico Caruso until 1908. Autograph letter in Italian signed by her to Italian impresario Franco Fano, dated October 7, 1908, informing her new address. Size is 4.4 x 7 inches, 1 page, central fold, rust stains, in very good condition.

Special magazine issued by Opera News, the magazine from the Metropolitan Opera in NY, celebrating the 100th anniversary of Enrico Caruso's birth in 1973. Many articles and photos, 39 pages, great collectible item, size is 8.25 x 11 inches.
