Argentinian marxist revolutionary (1928-1967), and a major figure in the Cuban revolution in 1959, and the early post-revolution period. "Che" Guevara has become a world-wide symbol of rebellion and part of popular culture.
Signed diploma, called Emulacion Socialista (Socialist Emulation), a sort of competition between institutions and individuals, where they received diplomas and awards for their contributions to their new society. This diploma, dated on July 13th, 1964, was given to a worker for this leading work in an undetermined, non-basic profession, and is signed on the lower left corner by Guevara as "Che", who was then minister of Industry in the new Cuba, plus 2 other signatures (one of an administrative secretary, one of a Sindicate secretary. Guevara signs representing the PURS (Partido Unido de la Revolución Socialista, or United Party of the Socialist Revolution).
Size is 12 x 9.9 inches, some spotted stains and minor creases, in very good condition.
ALSO INCLUDED is a photograph of him, 6.5 x 9.75 inches, a modern print of an old image of him.
