Ander, Alois - Autograph Letter Signed 1857

Bohemian-born tenor (1821-1864), a famous singer in his time, Richard Wagner initially chose Ander to be the first Tristan in the world premiere, but he died at age 43 just months before the first performance in Munich, with husband and wife Ludwig and Malvina Schnorr von Carolsfeld in the title roles.
Autograph letter signed, 1 large piece of paper folded in to 4 pages, of which 3 are handwritten and the 3rd is signed and dated at the bottom. Pages are 5.5 x 8.5 inches, in German (sold untranslated), excellent condition.
