Italian conductor (1920-1956), a promising star of the podium who guest-conducted many very important orchestras and a favorite of Arturo Toscanini who wrote in a letter: "This is the first time in my long career that I have met a young man so gifted". Unfortunately, Cantelli´s career was cut very short when he died in a plane crash at age 36, just one week after being named the Musical Director of Teatro La Scala.
Large signed photo, inscribed and dated in New York in 1953, stamped on verso by photographer Editta Sheridan, New York. Signed on the mat, total size is 10.2 x 13.2 inches, actual photo is 8 x 10 inches. Minor overall toning, otherwise in very good condition.
