Italian composer (1797-1848) mostly of operas, one of the 3 most important composers of the Bel Canto style together with Rossini and Bellini, during the first half of the 19th century.
Autograph letter handwritten and signed by him, 4 x 5.25 inches. Presumably from around 1841, sent to a Mr Mauroy, Secretary of the Royal Court of Paris. Bold, clear writting and signature, some folds, otherwise in excellent condition. Donizetti refers to an appointment.
