Famous Russian tenor (1857-1918), creator of the main tenor roles in two of Tchaikovsky operas: The Queen of Spades and Iolanta, together with his wife Medea in the main soprano role. Highly regarded by Tchaikovsky, Figner teamed with his wife Medea in most performances during their 15 years married (1889-1904). Rare, large size cabinet photo of him as Raoul in Les Huguenots, photo has been glued at the bottom with a piece of paper with an autograph music quote (from an aria by Raoul in Les Huguenots), signed by the great tenor. Size is 5.25 x 8.25 inches, in excellent condition
