French poet (1802-1885), novelist and dramatist of the Romantic era, one of the most famous writers in French language.

Autograph letter, written on 2 pages of a bifolium, to a Mr. Durmont, in French (sold untranslated). Hugo writes "our famous trial of 1832...Le Roi S´Amuse". He is asking about the location of his contract, and is requesting its return. Total size is 9 x 7 inches, but folded into a small bifolium with 4 pages that are 4.5 x 7 inches, with the letter on 2 pages (front and verso) and the text "Mr Durmont" in a 3rd.

Bold, clear signature at the end, a repaired tear on the blank page and the page where the recipient is, minor folds, in overall very good to excellent condition.

Returns & Exchanges

Unsatisfactory items may be returned within 14 days of receipt for your choice of a store credit or a full refund. In order to qualify for a refund, items must first be returned in the exact same condition they were shipped. By default we ship via USPS, and provide the option to ship via FedEx or UPS. Shipping and handling costs are not refundable for any items that were already shipped, either returned or not. At our discretion, a restocking and relisting fee of up to USD 40 could be applied for some returned items, although this is very rarely applied.
