Hungarian composer of operettas (1882-1953), well known for his fusion of Viennese waltz music and Hungarian csardas. Of Jewish origin, and rejecting the offer by the nazi regime to become a "honorary Aryan", Kalman moved to the United States, returning to Europe in 1949.
Large signed photo of him, inscribed and handwritten with a long sentiment, dated in Stockholm in 1918. Size is 11.4 x 15 inches! autograph is in very bold ink, but the image has partially faded, minor cracks on borders and some small stains, but in good overall condition.
