Hungarian composer, pianist, conductor and teacher (1811-1886). Autograph letter signed and dated by him in Weimar in 1855, a translation in a separate sheet is included.
In this interesting short letter, Liszt turns down the offer to write a preface to a piano manual, giving "only relative praise to your manual of exercise for the piano, and in doing so I can not be sufficiently helpful for your purpose". One page, 8 x 5 inches, with some folds, in overall very good condition.
ALSO INCLUDED is a beautiful cabinet photo of the composer, an original cabinet photo by J. Ganz, Brussels, 4.25 x 6.5 inches, in excellent condition.
