Italian baritone (1800-1876), very famous in his time, created several important roles including Ernesto in Il Pirata, Valdeburgo in La Straniera and Riccardo in Puritani (the three, operas by Bellini), as well as Malatesta in Don Pasquale by Donizetti.
Autograph letter signed by him in Paris, 1844, to his friend and college, star Italian bass Luigi Lablache ("My dear Lablache" at the top"). Tamburini was known, together with Lablache, Grisi and Rubini, as the famous "Puritani Quartet".
One large piece of paper folded into 4 pages, handwritten in 2 pages, one with the letter, another saying " Monsieur L. Lablache". Size of each page is 5.25 x 8 inches, has folds, otherwise in excellent condition. Rare!
