Autograph letter, handwritten and signed by the great Italian composer (1813-1901), dated in 1883. In Italian, to his dear friend and publisher, Tito Ricordi, dated February 23rd, 1883, with a very clear, bold signature at the bottom. Verdi mentions his villa St. Agata and his wife Giuseppina Strepponi (as "Seppina", at the end of the letter).
Size is 5.25 x 7.5 inches, minor rust by a piece of tape over the upper left corner, not affecting any text, otherwise in excellent condition. A full translation into English is provided.
ALSO INCLUDED is an original, vintage cabinet photo of the composer by Friedrich Bruckmann, London, from about the same time than the letter. Size is 4.5 x 6.75 inches, an ideal companion to the letter for framing them together. In excellent condition.
