Famous Belgian violinist and composer (1820-1881), later violin teacher, a child virtuoso who as an adult extensively toured through Europe and the US, establishing his reputation as one of the leading violinists of the 19th century.
Autograph letter signed, on 1 large page folded in the middle - letter is in the first 2 pages. In French, to an unknown recipient, dated in 1875, concerning a your Russian named Alex Federoff and the not-so-good progress this student has made in the Conservatory since he was admitted. At the end of the letter, Vieuxtemps mentions that his daughter just had a healthy boy and that both mother and child are well.
