Typed letter in German signed by him, dated July 21, 1939, stating: “Due to an overabundance of work and unfortunately also due to a prolonged illness, I only have time today, after the end of the semester, to thank you once again for the gracious welcome we received from you at our concert in Florence. It was a great pleasure for all of us to experience the open-mindedness with which the students of your famous institute received the performances of our chamber orchestra, and we will always remember the beautiful evening with you with gratitude. I hope that one day I will also have the pleasure of welcoming you to Berlin with some of your master's students. At the same time, I would like to take the liberty of sending you our last two annual reports, which should give you an insight into our work…”.  Size is 8.2 x 11.2 inches, 1 page, central fold, overal rust, creases, in overall very good condition.

Autograph letter in German, signed by him, dated 10/I/1909, to a colleague about music matters. Size is 5.5 x 8.6 inches, 1 page, central fold, with letterhead, in overall very good condition. Size is 7.5 x 9.75 inches approx. (trimmed from a larger format), light folds over the angles due to previous framing, otherwise in excellent condition.

Stokowski conducted many famous orchestras, including the Philadelphia Orchestra, NBC Symphony, NY Philharmonic Symphony and others. Signed publicity photograph, size is 8 x 10 inches, very small creases on some edges, otherwise in excellent condition. 

Austrian composer and conductor (1869-1919), wrote songs and duets, made very early recordings as a conductor. Nice cabinet photograph by E. Bieber, Berlin-Hamburg, signed and dated in 1907 by the composer. Size is 4.25 x 6.5 inches, minor damage at the top and mounting traces on verso, otherwise in very good condition.

German orchestra leader (1904-1998), conductor, composer, and jurist. Fantastic black-and-white photograph signed by him with a short music quote, inscribed and dated in 1977.  Size is 4.2 x 5.75 inches, in excellent condition.

American conductor and organist (1914-1991), set of 1 typed letter signed, 1 page, dated in 1947, size is 7 x 7.25 inches, small mounting traces at the top and larger on verso, otherwise in excellent condition and 1 2.25 x 4 inch signed card, in very good condition. Not sold separately.

Hungarian-born American conductor (1897-1970) and composer, considered one of the 20th-century greatest conductors. Autograph letter in German signed by him and dated 1969, to composer Peter Thomas (1925-2020), concerning an upcoming meeting in Salzburg. Size is 5.8 x 8.2 inches, 1 page, storage holes, central fold, in overall excellent condition.

German-American conductor and violinist (1835-1905), the first music director and the founder of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.  Autograph music quote with 2 bars from Wagner's "Parsifal", dated on April 14, 1883, New York (shortly after Wagner's decease).  Size is 7.9 x 3.7 inches, folds, in excellent condition.

Moroccan-born German conductor (1881-1967), who had a very important career in Germany, most especially at the Bayreuth Festival.  Rare, larger size photograph signed and dated by him in 1936. Size is 8.25 x 10.6 inches, mounted on a slightly larger mat to a total size of 8.6 x 11 inches, in excellent condition. 

American conductor (b.1944), pianist, and composer. Larger size color Cibachrome* print signed and dated by the conductor in 1978, shown in rehearsal in Philadelphia that same year; also signed on verso by photographer Allen Winigrad.  Size is 10.9 x 14 inches, mounting traces on verso, otherwise in excellent condition. *Cibachrome prints are high-quality prints from color transparency enlarged onto reversal color paper. This paper already has the emulsion incorporated and gives exceptional color brilliance.

English conductor (1844-1930), autograph musical quote signed of three bars of music by Handel.  Bold handwriting and signature, signed as "Wm. L. Tomlins". 9 x 11 inch album page, several small cracks on far left, not affecting any of the text or signature. Otherwise in excellent condition.

Italian superstar conductor (1867-1957), considered by many critics, fellow musicians, and much of the classical listening audience to have been one of the greatest conductors of all time. Fine small business printed card, NOT SIGNED. Size is 4.2 x 2.75 inches, in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED is its slightly larger envelope.

Star Italian conductor (1867-1957), considered one of the greatest of all times. Baton that belonged to the great director, given to the librarian of the NBC Orchestra, James Dolan. James B. Dolan (1915-2006), was the librarian for the Boston Pop Orchestra under Arthur Friedler, became the NBC Orchestra under Toscanini in 1942. Dolan befriended Toscanini and took care of the scores as well as the maestro´s batons, touring with the NBC Orchestra in the 1950s. Read more about this ---> HERE Also included is an autograph letter by Toscanini´s son Walter, sent to Dolan a month after Toscanini´s death in January 1957, with the envelope. Both items, baton and autograph letter, come from the estate of James Dolan, and are provided with a certificate of authenticity from us. Baton is 11.25 inches long, has a cracked tip (it was normal for Toscanini to break batons during rehearsals), while the autograph letter is 5.6 x 8.75 inches, in excellent condition.

Daughter of star Italian Conductor Arturo Toscanini (1900-1991). Autograph letter in Italian signed by her, no date, to her father Artur Toscanini, about family matters: "... I give Mr. Todd this enlargement, I ask him to give you lots of news from us – and bring all our love – I hope you too will want to let yourself be taken by this machine that reproduces colors and disappears surprisingly. (...) In fact, I'm sending you a letter from you and a funny photograph taken in your studio – with the dreaded Verdi...". Belgian-American composer, conductor, and founding conductor of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (1858-1929). Autograph musical quote signed on a signature cut, 3 bars of music, dated in New York in 1885. Size is 2.25 x 4.5 inches, in very good condition. 

Dutch conductor (1893-1955). Fine black-and-white photo postcard signed by him and dated in Rome, 1955. Size is 3.5 x 5.5 inches approx., ink a bit fading but still visible, otherwise in excellent condition.

Italian conductor (1862-1945), pianist and composer. Very interesting autograph letter in Italian, signed by him with a short music quote, no date indicated; addressed to the German music editor Schott sharing his views on the program offered for a concert and offering a harsh criticism of some of Gustav Charpentier's works. Size is 4.5 x 6.9 inches, 4 written pages in one folded sheet, no translation included, folds, creases, in very good condition.

Nice photograph, signed, inscribed, and dated by him in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1920 - where he conducted La Gioconda, according to some pencil notes on verso.
