Star Italian soprano, actress and monologist (1874-1944), who escaped a Roman Catholic orphanage and made her way to Paris at a very young age, where she began her career singing at cafe-concerts. After singing with Enrico Caruso in the opera Fedora (by Umberto Giordano), they took the opera to New York, debuting in the Metropolitan Opera, where she became one of the most photographed stars, for her beauty and talent.
