French violinist (1840-1905), composer, and conductor, mainly of opera.

Autograph note on a carte-telegramme signed by him, dated 1884 [postal marks indicate Dec 84], to the French composer Léo Delibes, concerning the talent of the stage singer Lucien Fugère, performing in Delibes’ opera “Le roi l’a dit” (1873): "... In telling you that I am almost as happy as you are with your Lucien, I will not surprise you, but what I also wish to tell you is with what sympathy and satisfaction the news was learned last night at the orchestra...". Size is 5.1 x 2.9 inches, overall rust tone, in excellent condition.

We ship both domestic and international within 3 business days after payment is received. Shipping fees are paid by the customer and depend on amount of your purchase.

Returns & Exchanges

Unsatisfactory items may be returned within 14 days of receipt for your choice of a store credit or a full refund. In order to qualify for a refund, items must first be returned in the exact same condition they were shipped. By default we ship via USPS, and provide the option to ship via FedEx or UPS. Shipping and handling costs are not refundable for any items that were already shipped, either returned or not. At our discretion, a restocking and relisting fee of up to USD 40 could be applied for some returned items, although this is very rarely applied.
