French composer (1791-1833) of operas of Alsatian descent who also wrote many pieces for piano, orchestra and ballet. Large Original lithograph of a sculpture of the composer designed by Alfred Lemoine and published by Bertauts, Paris; ca. XIX century. Size is 12.25 x 17.7 inches, rust stains, otherwise in very good condition.

German composer (1728-1804), conductor, and writer. Fine vintage lithograph portrait of the composer by F. Zimmermann. Size is 7 x 11 inches approx., in very good condition.

German soprano (1826-1894), who created the role of Elisabeth in Tannhauser in 1845, less than a week after her 19th birthday. This vintage print shows her as Ortud in the premiere of Lohengrin in the Berlin Hofoper (Konigliches Opernhaus, Berlin), in 1859. Large print full color, hand-painted, in excellent condition. Size is 9.25 x 12.25 inches. Rare!

English opera singer of the Victorian era (1815-1879), vintage printed score for voice and piano for a duet from Norma (Hear me, Norma...), with Kemble on the cover next to Miss Rainforth, Bufford. Published by Oliver Ditson, Boston, c.1850s. Lithograph size is 9.75 x 13.2 inches, some rust and stains, in good condition.

Entitles below as "Last Moments of President Lincoln. Washington D. C. April 15th, 1865", vintage lithograph showing Lincoln surrounded by members of this cabinet and others. Bufford´s Print Publishing House, Boston, copyright 1865, based upon a fanciful painting of Alonzo Chappel (1828-1887). Total mat size is 17.5 x 15 inches, print is 13.5 x 10.6 inches, hand painted, minor damage repaired over the center right, overall toning. A print from the time of these events, in very good condition and ready to be framed.

French engraver (1817-1850), wonderful caricatural study of a concert at home with violin, piano, flute and cello, with an audience of two (one of them asleep). Fine impression trimmed just outside the borderline but with the text below, 10 x 7.5 inches, in excellent condition.

Star German soprano (1848-1929), beautiful original print, cover of the Harper´s Weekly journal, published on January 18th, 1890. Print depicts Lehmann in the title role of The Queen of Sheba, opera by Goldmark, only the cover or front page, not the rest of the magazine. Size is 11 x 16 inches, in excellent condition.

Famous French bass (1791-1871), creator of the role of Bertram in the 1831 world premiere of Robert Le Diable (opera by Meyerbeer) and other roles in premieres of operas by Rossini, Donizetti, Halevy, Auber and others. Vintage lithograph, showing him in the role he created in Robert Le Diable, as drawn by Rigofreres, Paris, published by Marchaun, Paris. Size is 9.25 x 12.25 inches, minor cracks on borders, otherwise in very good condition.

Star Swedish soprano Jenny Lind (1820-1887), lithograph by William Hall & Son, New York, shown in La Sonnambula, sized 9.75 x 13.1 inches, water stain over the left margin. German soprano Sofia Cruvelli (1826-1907), who world-premiered operas for Verdi and Meyerbeer. Vintage lithograph by Lemercier, Paris, shown as herself, sized 6.75 x 8.5 inches, matted to a total of 11.25 x 13.5 inches, rust on mat. Famous French soprano Laure Cinti-Damoreau (1801-1863), who premiered several Rossini and Auber operas, lithograph published by Rigo Freres, Paris, sized 7.1 x 9.5 inches, some rust stains. All three of them in very good condition.

Etching combined with engraving, an original print by Giuseppe Longhi (1766-1831), depicting Pan & Syrinx in a scene of the story by Roman poet Ovid, where the lusty satyr Pan pursues the nymph Syrinx, who would transform into reeds to escape him. Late 17th/early 18th century, 14.5 x 11.75 inches, fold in the center, in excellent condition, rare and ready to frame if desired.

German composer (1801-1851), librettist and singer. Fine vintage lithograph with his image. Size is 8.25 x 11 inches, in very good condition.

Amazing piece of original artwork, great to decorate the wall of a Mahler fan!. This is a larger size, abstract art image of the composer, an intaglio on paper by American printmaker artist Philip von Raabe. Artwork is signed in pencil by artist (lower right corner, see photograph), and is entitled by the artist "Abschied" ("Farewell", in German). Size is 37.25 x 24 inches, jagged edges simulating hand-separated paper, very minor mounting damage on beck, perfect on front, excellent condition.

German composer (1763-1845), chapel master at the Cathedral of Bergamo. Vintage lithograph of him by Filippo Caporali. Size is 8.25 x 11.5 inches approx., spotted rust, rust stains, in good condition (see scan provided).

Italian soprano, actress, voice teacher and sister of Rosa Mazzarelli.  Large vintage lithograph by Battistelli portraying the soprano in 1852.  Size is 14 x 18.75 inches, dotted rust, otherwise in very good condition.

Italian mezzo-soprano (1822-?), creator of Pia de Tolomei (opera by Donizetti).  Vintage lithograph from her time (printed dated June 1840).  Print created by the Philharmonic Society of Parma.  Size is 10.1 x 14.9 inches, folds, spotted rust stains, in good condition.

French engraver (1722-1780), etching and engraving after Jean-Baptiste Greuze. The serenader sits in his home tuning his guitar. Fine impression trimmed on or inside the plate mark but complete and with text, size is 10.6 x 15.5 inches.

French composer (1820-1893) and songwriter.  Large vintage lithograph by Bertauts, Paris, based on a drawing by Alfred Lemoine (1862).  Size is 12.25 x 17.7 inches, spotted rust on margins, in overall very good condition.

Lot of 11 fine vintage original lithographs featuring famous opera singers.  Artists depicted include Emma Albani, Ernestine Urban, Gilbert Duprez, Giovanni Mario, Madmeoiselle Marquet, Marietta Alboni, Pauline Lucca, Placide Poultier, Teresa Brambilla (printed signature at the bottom, probably signed beneath but faded) plus one unidentified singer.  Each one is approximately 12 x 17.5 inches, from good to excellent condition. Italian composer (1771-1839) of Austrian descent, known for his operas and oratorios. Beautiful vintage lithograph of him engraved by Edme Queneday des Riceys (1756-1830). Size is 7.75 x 10.25 inches, rust tone over borders, otherwise in very good condition (see scans provided).

Italian violinist (1782-1840) and composer, who was the most celebrated violin virtuoso of his time, and left his mark as one of the pillars of modern violin technique. Beautiful vintage engraving published by F.W. Chanot on September 1889, printed by A. Salmon (Paris). Size is 9.75 x 11.7 inches (probably trimmed from a larger format), in excellent condition.

Lemercier, depicted as Norma in Bellini's opera.  Original design by L. Dupré, París, 1831.  Lithograph probably is dated ca.1850's.  Size is 12 x 15.1 inches, minor cracks on borders, minor stains, in overall very good condition.

Super star Italian soprano (1843-1919), one of the greatest singers of the 19th century.  Large size lithograph by Bertauts, Paris, depicting the soprano probably as Violetta Valéry in Verdi's La Traviata.  Size is 12.1 x 17.6 inches, some few dotted rust stains, in very good condition.

Italian soprano (1812-1867), particularly associated with bel canto composers such as Rossini, Donizetti, Bellini, and early Verdi. Nice black-and-white print of her mounted on a mat, depicted as Rosina in Rossini's "Il Barbiere di Siviglia" by artist David Bogue (1844). Total size is 9 x 11 inches, in very good condition.

Italian composer (1728-1800) of opera, symphonies, chamber music and other forms, one of the most famous of his time. Signature cut, probably taken from a letter or document, matted with a fine antique lithograph showing the composer young. Signature cut is 4 x 1 inches (visible window size), print is 8.5 x 5.5 inches (visible window size), total mat size is 11.5 x 17 inches, all in excellent condition. See full and detail scans. Very rare!

French tenor (1824-1891), Son of Louis Antoine Ponchard (tenor) and Marie Sophia Collault (soprano), sang frequently at the Opera Comique in Paris from 1847 to 1871. Original vintage from his time.   Size is 5.5 x 8.5 inches, spotted rust stains at bottom, otherwise in very good condition.

French pianist (1817-1863) and composer. Large vintage lithograph of the pianist by Marie-Alexandre Alophe. Size is 8.3 x 11.2 inches, spotted rust, in overall very good condition.

Vintage ballet print beautifully matted to a hand colored lithograph ca. late XVIII century.  Lithograph by J. W. Gear.  Total size is 12 x 16 inches (actual print is 9 x 12.8 inches -visible window size), in very good condition.

Famous English soprano (c.1692-1795), later contralto, associated to Handel operas. Vintage lithograph published by Richard Bentley, London, 1838, after a sketch by G. Vanderbank, 1723. Size is 5.5 x 8.75 inches, minor paper loss on lower right corner, and minor damage on lower border, otherwise in excellent condition.

Famous French tenor (1815-1879), world premiered several operas, including La Damnation de Faust (Berlioz, 1846) and Le Prophete (Meyerbeer, 1849). Hand-colored lithograph published by Decan, Paris, showing him as Azael, the role he created in the 1850 world premiere of Auber´s opera "L`Enfant Prodigue". Size is 7 x 10.25 inches, in excellent condition.

Star Italian composer of operas (1792-1868), of which he created 39, including Il Barbiere di Siviglia. Large original lithograph of the composer designed by Alfred Lemoine and published by Bertauts, Paris, 1861. Size is 12.5 x 17.5 inches, very minor stains, in excellent condition.

Wonderful large unsigned vintage print from ca.1840s, depicting six leading sopranos from that time: Mars, Sontag, Malibran-Garcia (upper row from left to right); Cinti-Damoreau, Pasta, Georges (lower row from left to right).  Original lithograph by De Lemercier, Paris.  Size is 12 x 15.5 inches, overall age toning, in very good condition.

Italian opera composer and conductor (1774-1851), highly famous in his time for some of his 22 operas. Spontini has largely been forgotten after his passing away. Beautiful vintage lithograph of the composer by Louis Massard, shown young. Size is 6.25 x 10.75 inches, in excellent condition.

French bass-baritone (1821-1900), and also creator of songs, and a regular performer at the famous Theatre Italien in Paris. Vintage, large size lithograph with a drawing by M. Alophe and published by Bertauts, circa 1850. Size is 15.75 x 22.2 inches, some repaired cracks, paper loss on corners and stains over the border areas, but image is in excellent condition.

Wood engraving on thin paper laid down to board, from early 18th century. Eight caricatural studies of violin virtuoso: Introduction (tremolo), Pizzicato, Maestoso, the Cadenza, Staccato, Fermado ad Libatum (sic), Presto con Furio (sic) and Finale. Matted to 9.75 x 20 inches, print is 4.75 x 12.25 inches (visible), is in good condition, missing a small piece of paper on the lower left corner (not seen, since this are is under the mat).

German-American conductor and violinist (1835-1905), the first music director and the founder of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Beautiful photoengraving print, from early 20th century, showing him directing. Size is 11 x 15.25 inches, in excellent condition.

VANITY FAIR was a weekly periodic published in London between 1869 and 1914, its articles were about the current political, social, literary and financial news. Each issue featured a bound-in lithograph depicting an influential personality of the day. Lithographs were often accompanied by text which extolled or lamented the virtues or vices of the person/s being featured - and they are today highly collectible. Each original Vanity Fair lithograph is 10.5 x 15.75 inches, is original, and comes with a copy of the corresponding text. All lithographs have mounting traces (tape marks) on verso. English soprano (1802-1867), original 1821 etching by Richard Dighton, who created and published it in 1821, Wilson is shown in the role of Mandane in Artaxerxes (an opera by English composer Thomas Arne, premiered in 1762), this is the role of her London debut at age of only 19. Cut at the top, size is 8.4 x 10.8 inches, in excellent condition.
