French baritone (1848-1935), particularly associated with the French repertory and Mozart roles. Beautiful photograph signed boldly and inscribed by him, shown as himself, dated in 1930. Photo is mounted on a cardboard frame with solid backing. Size is 5.1 x 7.4 inches with some wear on edges, silvering, and tape residues by the top (not affecting the signature); otherwise in excellent condition.

American tenor (1895-?).  Signed photograph, shown as himself, dated in New York in 1927.  This is a 4.25 x 6 inch photo mounted on soft cardboard, signature is at the bottom of the cardboard underneath the photo. Total item size is 8.5 x 12 inches, mounting traces on verso, otherwise in excellent condition

Legendary German Wagnerian soprano (1872-1932). Beautiful sepia photograph (probably from a book) signed and inscribed by her with a short sentiment dated in New York, 1922, shown as Elisabeth in Wagner's "Tannhäuser". Size is 8.75 x 10.8 inches (trimmed from a larger format), some creases, dust stains around borders, in overall very good condition.

Size is 3.5 x 5.5 inches, blind-stamped on the front by photographer Adolfo Ermini (Milan), some silvering, otherwise in excellent condition.

Scottish soprano (1874-1967), very famous in France and in the United States at the beginning of the 20th century. American coloratura soprano (1886-1963) who sang at the Metropolitan Opera from 1914 to 1921. Nice black-and-white photograph signed by her, shown as herself; ink-stamped on verso by photographer Cronhart & Monios (Baltimore). Size is 7.8 x 9.8 inches, minor damage over borders, in overall very good condition.

Spanish tenor (1892-1975) and husband of celebrated soprano Fidela Campiña. Large photograph signed by him, dated in 1934, Bologna, Italy. Mat is also signed by photographer C. Giglio. Photo's size is 7.9 x 10.9 inches mounted on a mat of 10 x 14.1 inches in size, spotted rust, some silvering, in good condition.

Catalan mezzo-soprano (1876-1943) and wife of the celebrated tenor Giovanni Zenatello.  Large photo signed by her, shown as herself, dated in 1912; and also signed in pencil by the photographer (illegible name).  Size is 9.1 x 12.8 inches, small crack at the bottom and left border, small loss of paper over the upper-left corner, otherwise in very good condition.

Star Spanish tenor (1844-1890), considered one of the best singers of the late part of the 19th century. Gayarre created the role of Enzo in the world premiere of La Gioconda and Marcello in the premiere of Il Duca d`Alba.  Large print, showing him as Nadir in Les Pecheurs de Perles (The Pearl Fishers), opera by Bizet, one of his most celebrated roles - and the last one he performed on stage in the infamous night he lost his voice at Teatro Real in Madrid, just 25 days before his death. Boldly signed by Gayarre at the top, inscribed to a nobleman, size is 8.6 x 9.75 inches, in excellent condition. Very rare!!

Star Spanish tenor (1844-1890), considered one of the best singers of the late 19th century, and creator of the role of Enzo in the world premiere of La Gioconda and Marcello in the premiere of Il Duca d'Alba.  Larger size engraving print of Gayarre by B. Maura (Madrid, 1880), boldly signed by the star tenor, inscribed to the Spanish author and speaker Faustino Sanchez Gil (1850-1896).  Size is 12.25 x 16 inches, minor rust stains on edges, otherwise in excellent condition.

Swedish tenor (1925-2017). German soprano (1919-1988). Fine black-and-white photo postcard signed by both singers plus Graziella Sciutti and Christa Ludwig, shown in Mozart's opera "Così fan Tutte".  Size is 5.75 x 3.8 inches, crease over the lower-right corner, Gedda's signature over the dark area (not clearly visible in scan), otherwise in excellent condition.

Swedish tenor (1925-2017), one of the most recorded opera singers, had a very long and successful career, performing operas in French, Russian, German, Italian, English, Czech, Swedish and Latin. Austrian soprano (1833-1903), known in Vienna as the queen of operetta. Fine cabinet photograph signed by her, shown as herself; and original by Julius Gertinger, Vienna. Size is 4.4 x 6.6 inches, storage holes at the top and the bottom, otherwise in very good condition.

Turkish star soprano (1928-2008), well-known for her great interpretations of Bel Canto operas, Gencer was active for over 3 decades and sang over 70 different roles. Photograph is also signed on the front by photographer Bonfort, Marseille.  Size is 6.5 x 8.9 inches, with some jagged edges, otherwise in excellent condition.

American mezzo-soprano and film actress (1885-1958), appeared as La Frugola in the world premiere production of Puccini's Il Tabbaro at the Metropolitan Opera, New York in 1918. Signed photograph, shown most likely in role, inscribed.  Printed signature on front and stamped on verso by photographer James Hargis Connelly, Chicago. Size is .8 x 10 inches, small bullet holes on edges, otherwise in very good condition.

American mezzo-soprano (1885-1958). Fine black-and-white photograph signed and inscribed by her, dated 1910, shown in Bizet's "Carmen"; blind-stamped on the front by photographer Mishkin, New York. Size is 3.8 x 5.3 inches, pinhole over the upper border, minor silvering, in very good condition.

American mezzo-soprano and film actress (1885-1958), appeared as La Frugola in the world premiere production of Puccini's Il Tabbaro at the Metropolitan Opera, New York in 1918. Signed photograph, shown most likely in role, inscribed.  Printed signature on front of photographer Fernand De Gueldre, Chicago. Size is .9.5 x 14 inches, small crease on top right, otherwise in very good condition.

Austrian soprano (1896-1975), known for her interpretation of works by Richard Strauss.   Nice photograph mounted on a mat, signed and inscribed by the soprano to Music Director Max Ast, dated in 1926.  Photograph is blind-stamped on the front by photographer Ellinger, Salzburg; and also signed in pencil by the photographer over the lower-right corner.  Total size is 9.5 x 12.6 inches, actual photo is 6.4 x 8.3 inches, in excellent condition.

Slovakian soprano (1855-1920), one of the stars of the Academy of Music in New York, later became a voice teacher. Signed cabinet photograph, shown as herself. dated in Cassel, Germany in 1879, inscribed. Photo by W. Kurtz, New York. Size is 4.25 x 6.5 inches, in excellent condition. 

French mezzo-soprano (1882-1915), signed photograph, shown possibly in role, inscribed. Photo by Mishkin Studio, New York. This is a 5.75 x 7.75 inch photo mounted on cardboard, text is contained on bottom of the photo and continues onto the bottom of the cardboard. Total item size is 10 x 12 inches, with several small cracks on the edges of the cardboard and mounting traces on verso, photo itself is in excellent condition. 

Bulgarian bass (1929-2004), one of the most famous bass singers of the postwar period. Beautiful black-and-white photograph signed by him, shown in the title role of Mussorgsky's opera "Boris Godunov". Photograph is also signed by an unidentified person (not clearly visible). Size is 7 x 9.3 inches, in excellent condition.

Beautiful black-and-white photograph mounted on cardboard signed by both artists, dated February 18, 1937, shown as Andrea Chenier and Maddalena di Coigny in Giordano's opera at Teatro La Scala, Milan. Total size is 5.8 x 8.1 inches, in excellent condition.

Very small crack on top left corner of photo and mounting traces on the back of the cardboard, otherwise in very good well-preserved condition.

Gobbi partnered with Maria Callas at the famous 1964 Covent Garden production of "Tosca" by Franco Zeffirelli and appeared in 25 films. Set of 2 small half-tone photographs signed by him, dated in San Francisco, November 1903, plus one short autograph note signed by him in Italian, also dated in San Francisco, October  1903.  Photos are 3.25 x 4.5 inches and 3 x 4 inches, autograph note is 3.9 x 5 inches. Norwegian soprano (1845-1935), wife of the famous composer Eduard Grieg.  Fine vintage cabinet photograph of the soprano by Elliott & Fry (London) signed and inscribed by Grieg with a short sentiment. Size is 4.1 x 6.4 inches (trimmed from a larger format), some stains, mounting traces on verso, in very good condition. Very Rare!  

Italian superstar soprano (1811-1869), who performed widely in Europe, the United States, and South America, and was among the leading sopranos of the XIX century. Fantastic print of her shown as Norma in Bellini's opera plus her signature cut below mounted on a mat for a total size of 10 x 14.75 inches (print's size is 6 x 8.7 inches, signature cut is 2.25 x 0.75 inches), in very good condition.
