This is a limited first edition (only 500 copies) of this delightful memoir written by the Bouvier sisters about their summer in Europe. Folio, original marbled blue paper boards, original cardboard slipcase with photographic paper label, illustrated with drawings and decorations by both authors. Signatures of both Jacqueline (who formerly was Jacqueline Kennedy) and Lee Bouvier on first title page.   Original slipcase, hardcovers, 10.5 x 13.5 inches, in excellent condition. About the book content: In 1951, eighteen-year-old Lee Bouvier and her twenty-two-year-old sister Jacqueline took their first trip to Europe together. Jackie had already spent a year in France living with a French family and attending the Sorbonne. Her many cards and letters had made her sister Lee want nothing more than to see Europe with Jackie. Having convinced their parents, the two young ladies set off to see the continent. As they traveled, they sketched and kept notes, creating an illustrated journal of their time abroad, which they presented to their parents as a thank you upon their return.

What are signed books?

Book inscriptions or books with signatures are simply books that had the author, the owner of the book  or someone else related to the book content, signing one of the first pages.

Signatures are usually in the frontend pages (the first blank pages immediately after opening the front cover), the first blank pages (blank pages that sometimes exist after the frontend pages), first title page, full title page (title plus more information about the book, name of the publisher, etc).

Autographed Books Value

It is determined by supply and demand, like everything else, added to condition. A book that has the author signature is at least 2 times more valuable than an unsigned copy of the exact same book, usually sells for much more than 2 times, depending on the demand, the amount of those author signed books existing, whether it is a first edition or not, and the condition it is in. To get an estimated idea of autographed books value you will need to browse around and see how much it sells for.

Keep in mind that those are asking prices, so they are a wish, and only past/realized prices are a reliable guidance when determining the value in your signed books for sale.

Book inscriptions by present or previous owners tend to decrease the value, except when the owner is a celebrity and the signature has some value itself, or there is an interesting connection between signer and the author or with the book content.
