Italian-born composer who spent most of his life in France (1760-1842), Cherubini is well known today for his opera Medee (1797) but also composed many other operas, orchestral music and chamber works.
Autograph letter signed, dated in 1826, in French (sold untranslated), on a folded paper that is 9.75 x 7.3 inches, addressed to a Prof. Meveau, piano teacher. Paper loss on 2 sides, not affecting his writing or signature, minor cracks. Also included is a small portrait of the composer, oval cut from a postcard.
