Schirmer in 1943 to conmemorate the 60th birthday of his president, famous French-born American pianist, musicologist and publiser Carl Engel (1883-1944). This is copy number 177 of a total of only 300 that were made, and is signed by Carl Engel himself who dedicates the book to star conductor Fritz Reiner - with a short sentiment ("To and old friend"). 234 pages including articles about Engel, music topics, and some with photos.
