Recently Added Authentic Autographs and Memorabilia

Italian opera composer (1863-1945), mostly remembered today for Cavalleria Rusticana and L`Amico Fritz, among other creations. Signed photo, inscribed and dated in Rome in 1929. Size is 6.6 x 7.9 inches, minor silvering on the image, otherwise in excellent condition.

Danish-born American composer and music teacher (1862-1943), associated with the Indianist Movement, very important in Kansas City. Beautiful photo postcard signed and inscribed by him, dated in 1910. Size is 3.25 x 5.25 inches, some silvering, otherwise in very good condition.

French composer (1799-1862), largely known today for his opera La Juive (1835). Short autograph letter signed, in French, no year, sold untranslated. One page, sized 5 x 6.5 inches, in excellent condition.

Austrian composer (1870-1954), who also created many songs and film scores. Autograph letter signed to the French music publisher Salabert, discussing business, two pages written in French, dated in 1938 (sold untranslated). Each page is 7.4 x 10.5 inches, some toning at bottom and top, otherwise in very good condition.

Interesting lot of pictures of Les Hassan, a family of French acrobats and dancers. Lot with a total of 38 items (18 cabinet photos, 3 CDVs or Carte-de-Visite, 15 small photographs and 2 photo postcards), depicting different members of the family both in circus positions taken in studio and live in performance. Cabinet photos are from circa 1880 with brother and sister Ernest and Elisa Hassan, while the rest of the material is from a later period and depicts other family members. A page with some handwritten information accompanying this lot is provided (see scan). Cabinet photos by important photographers in Paris, each one is 4.25 x 6.5 inches, CDVs are 2.5 x 4 inches, photos are 2.5 x 3.75 inches (sizes vary), and postcards are 3.5 x 5.5 inches. All in very good to excellent condition, not trimmed on borders. See scans.

Group of 10 original vintage items consisting of circulars, contract and program/playbills, from Teatro La Scala, ranging from 1814 through 1894. Various sizes, the largest being 8.25 x 12 inches, all in excellent condition. Sold only as a lot, not individually. See scans.

Italian conductor and violinist (1859-1939), lot of 7 programs for concerts at La Scala, Milan, including music by various composers. Colored paper programs (4 items) are 1 page, 8.25 x 11.75 inches, white paper programs (3 items) are 4 pages, 7 x 9.75 inches. All in very good condition.

World premiere program for his opera Fior D`Arte (1894), conducted by the composer at La Scala. Famous soprano Cesira Ferrani stars as Maria, Guilio Rossi as Il Conte, Giuseppe Cremonini as Paolo. Four pages, 6.5 x 9.75 inches, in very good condition.

Group of 3 programs with famous French conductor Charles Lamoureux (1834-1899) conducting at teatro La Scala, Milan, in 1894. Programs include music by Wagner, a composer whose music he enormously advocated later in his life.  One smaller program with 4 pages, each one is 6.25 x 8.5 inches, and 2 larger, 1-page programs, 11.9 x 8.25 inches, all 3 concerts including at least one piece of Wagner´s music, all in excellent condition.

Argentine soprano (b.1924), signed photo, shown as herself. Size is 4.9 x 6.5 inches, with some mounting traces and wear on edges not affecting the signature. Otherwise in good condition.

Italian soprano (b.1928), signed and inscribed photo, shown as herself. Stamped on verso by photography studio Ritratti D' Arte, Florence. Size is 5 x 6.75 inches with some bending at corners but otherwise in very good condition.

Legendary Norwegian soprano (1895-1962), signed full program for a recital at Teatro Colon, Buenos Aires, dated October 6, 1948. Signature is on the bio page, very clear and bold. Size is 6.2 x 9 inches with three storage holes but otherwise in very good condition.

Swedish contralto (1896-1970), signed concert program from a New York Town Hall recital, dated February 22, 1940. Full program with signature on cover page photo and news clippings attached to cast page. Size is 5.8 x 8.6 inches with two storage holes but otherwise in excellent condition.

American soprano (1882-1967), signed concert program in Washington, DC, dated January 11, 1928. Full program with signature on front page. Plentiful news clippings attached to subsequent pages. Size is 6 x 9 inches, item contains 2 storage holes but otherwise in excellent condition.

English composer (1835-1909), who was also musical theorist, writer and teacher. His output include 4 symphonies, concertos, chamber and vocal music, and several books on music theory. Autograph music quote, with 8 bars for an unidentified piece for piano, dated in 1879. Size is 8.25 x 5.6 inches, minor fold and mounting traces on verso, otherwise in excellent condition.

American composer (1884-1958), who was also a painter and writer. Strickland published almost 400 works, mostly songs. Autograph music quote, from a song called Dreamin’ Time (1923), for contralto and orchestra, showing 6 bars of the piece. Size is 9.1 x 4.8 inches, two folds, in excellent condition.

American composer (b.1937), considered one of the most influential music makers of the 20th century; creator of several important operas and film soundtracks. Fine black and white photograph signed by him, with his face a bit blurry as a photographic effect by photographer. Size is 5 x 7.4 inches, in excellent condition.

American composer (1903-1966), who created operas, songs, symphonies and band works. Signed photo, inscribed. Size is 4.5 x 6.8 inches. Stamped on verso by photographer T. Santacroce, Rome, minor damage on corners, otherwise in very good condition.

Italian composer (1916-1976), his output includes theatrical works, chamber, vocal and orchestral music and operas. Signed photo, inscribed and dated in Rome in 1962. Signed on front and stamped on verso by photographer Lumachi, Florence. Size is 5.5 x 7.5 inches, in excellent condition.

Brazilian prolific composer (1887-1959), who was also a conductor and one of the most important Brazilian composers of the 20th century.   Nice photograph signed and inscribed by the composer, dated in Rio de Janeiro in 1935. Photo is also signed on the front and stamped on verso by photographer Wilenski, Buenos Aires. Size is 7.5 x 9 inches, jagged borders, scratches around several parts, not affecting the signature or his image, in very good condition.

German composer (1900-1950), who was a leading stage composer in Germany and later moved to the United States, becoming a citizen in 1943, whose most famous work is The Threepenny Opera. Beautiful second-generation photo print signed by him. Size is 5 x 6.5 inches, in excellent condition.

American composer and music scholar (1913-2005), creator of symphonic music, for piano and one opera, also wrote a book on music notation. Signed photograph, inscribed with a long sentiment and dated in 1941. Size is 8 x 10 inches. Stamped on verso ph by photographer Tamara, who also signed on front. Beautiful item!

Size is 4 x 6.5 inches, crease on the upper left corner, not affecting the signature or his image, poor contrast, otherwise in good condition.
