Signed Opera Programs ($50 - $100)

Italian-born American soprano (1909-2014), who sang at the Met Opera for over 25 years. Albanese was noted for her performances of Verdi and Puccini roles, later in her life worked to help young musicians and singers. Signed photograph, shown in the title role of Puccini's Madama Butterfly, size is 8 x 10 inches, in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED: signed Opera News magazine program/cast page of a 1958 radio broadcast of Puccini's La Boheme from the Metropolitan Opera, New York with her signature on the photo of her as Mimi. Size of each page is 6.75 x 10 inches, in very good condition, not sold separately. 

American contralto (1897-1993), who performed a wide range of music, from opera to spirituals; and an important figure in the struggle for African-American artists to overcome racial prejudice in the USA during the mid-twentieth century. Austrian conductor (1894-1981), who was famous for his interpretations of the works of Wagner, Mozart, and Richard Strauss, considered one of the greatest conductors of the 20th century. Program for a performance of the superstar Spanish soprano at the War Memorial San Francisco Opera on October 9th, 1987, with her accompanist pianist Miguel Zanetti, signed on the front cover by the soprano.  Size is 8.5 x 11 inches, 4 pages, in excellent condition.

Group of 13 full programs for concerts at Carnegie Hall, part of the series by the Community Concert Association, from between 1950 and 1956. Each one is signed by a different artist/s in one page or more, size is 6.25 x 9.4 inches, 4 pages, in very good condition. Signers include pianists Marisa Regules, Jean Casadeus, mezzo-soprano Martha Lipton, baritones Todd Duncan, Walter Cassel, Edwin Steffe, and others.

Program for a recital of the star Italian tenor at the Academic Hall, Englewood, NJ, USA, in March 1962 signed by him on the front cover and also signed by the replacing pianist Diana Delmonte and baritone Anselmo Colzani on page 4.  Size is 6.8 x 9.9 inches, 4 pages, minor stains, in overall very good condition.

Dutch mezzo-soprano (1880-1970), signed program for a concert of symphonic and lieder music presented in 1907 with complete lieder texts on verso. Size is 8.5 x 10.75 inches, small tear at top left, otherwise in very good condition. 

Program for a performance of Puccini's "La Bohème" at The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, on June 9, 1951, signed on the front cover by the famed Spanish soprano Victoria de los Angeles, baritone Jess Walters, soprano Audrey Bowman, and tenor Walter Midgley. Size is 4.8 x 7.4 inches, full program with all pages and covers, in very good condition.

Program for a recital of the celebrated Italian tenor at the Orchestra Hall, Chicago, 1964, signed by him on the front cover. Size is 69 x 9.8 inches, full program with all pages and covers, in excellent condition.

Program for a performance of the Russian singer with the Moscow Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Rudolf Barshai, at the Royal Festival Hall, London, on June 29th, 1962, signed by the singer on her bio page and by the conductor on his photo conducting the orchestra. Size is 7.25 x 9.6 inches, full program with all pages and covers, some wear, in very good condition.

English soprano (b. 1960) and Canadian tenor (b.1956), both known for Wagnerian repertoire in the 1990s and 2000s. Double signed full program (with both signatures on the cast page), along with an accompanying full libretto, also signed by both of them on the cover page, for a performance of Richard Wagner's Tristan und Isolde at the Metropolitan Opera  in November 1999. Program is 90 pages long, all pages and covers, each page is 5.5 x 8.5 inches, in excellent condition. Complete libretto is 31 pages long, and contains a full English translation along with the original full German text, as well as a brief summary, 6.75 x 10.25 inches, in excellent condition. Not sold separately. 

Concert at the Teatro Comunale Giuseppe Verdi, signed and dated 1934 on the cover, one folded sheet - each page is 4.25 x 8.5 in, in very good condition.

American soprano (1882-1967), signed concert program in Washington, DC, dated January 11, 1928. Full program with signature on front page. Plentiful news clippings attached to subsequent pages. Size is 6 x 9 inches, item contains 2 storage holes but otherwise in excellent condition.

Program for a concert at Teatro Auditorium, Havana, 1947 performed by the Norwegian soprano Flagstad and conducted by maestro Castro. Full program with all pages and covers, signed by both artists on their corresponding photos. Size is 6 x 9 inches, in excellent condition.

Legendary Norwegian soprano (1895-1962), signed full program for a recital at Teatro Colon, Buenos Aires, dated October 6, 1948. Signature is on the bio page, very clear and bold. Size is 6.2 x 9 inches with three storage holes but otherwise in very good condition.

Full program for a performance of this opera by Hildebrando Pizzetti, at Teatro Comunale di Bologna, 1953. Signed by the composer on the back of the front cover, in blue ink, just below facsimiles (printed) of signatures by the singers in this performance. Full program with all pages and covers, size is 5.6 x 9.1 inches, in excellent condition.

Danish soprano (1881-1960), signed program from a 1944 recital at New York's Town Hall, full 4 page program containing full English translations of the texts of each piece performed, size is 6.25 x 9.5 inches. Also included: unsigned 3.5 x 5.5 inch photograph, shown as herself, photo by Mishkin, New York, Both items in excellent condition, not sold separately.

Danish soprano (1881-1960), signed program. Two program clips attached to album page, with signature contained on second clip. Size is 6 x 9.25 inches, in excellent condition.

Italian soprano (1882-1963), signed program in a concert in San Fransico in 1920. Four pages with signature on the first one, next to her picture. Size is 5 x 7.5 inches. 

Italian tenor (1890-1957), Italian soprano (1916-2000) and Italian mezzo-soprano (1920 -2003), signed program page of a performance of Il Trovatore at Teatro Colon, dated in June 25th, 1948. Size is 6.5 x 9 inches.

Program for a recital by the star Italian tenor in Sweden (probably -no city mentioned) on November 16, 1952, signed by him on the front cover below his image. Size is 8.25 x 11 inches, full program with all pages and covers, in excellent condition.

Antal Dorati, Nan Merriman, John Shirley-Quirk, Richard Lewis and Erna Spoorenberg sign score of Missa Solemnis by Beethoven, at the occasion of a concert by the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, 26 January 1965. On last page as well the signatures of Carlo Maria Guilini, Heather Harper, Anna Reynolds and Raffaele Arie. See scans of page 1, front cover and last page.

LP record box of Rossini's L'Italiana in Algeri signed by the famous conductor on the box cover. The box includes a booklet and 2 LP records. Size is 12.5 x 12.5 inches, in excellent condition.

Rigoletto (Verdi) full score for singers and piano, signed on page 1 by English baritone Peter Glossop (plus another unidentified signature). Complete, with all 334 pages and covers, in excellent condition, published by Ricordi, NY, 1980, printed in Italy. Size is 8.25 x 10.75 inches

Program for a performance of Rossini's opera "Il Barbiere di Siviglia" at the Lyric Opera of Chicago on November 15, 1956, under the baton of Emerson Buckley, signed on the cast page by Tito Gobbi, Giulietta Simionato, Leopold Simoneau, and one additional unidentified signer. And also a cast page (in the same program) for a performance of Puccini's "La Bohème" on November 14, 1956, signed on the cast page by Renata Tebaldi, Ettore Bastianini, Miraslav Cangalovich, and Barry Morell. Size is 8.5 x 11 inches, full program with all pages and covers, overall rust tone, in very good condition.

Program for a performance of Verdi's Requiem at the Royal Festival Hall, London, on January 21st, 1962, by The Philharmonia Orchestra conducted by Carlo Maria Giulini, signed by Rita Gorr, Nicolai Gedda, Nicolai Ghiaurov, and Elinor Ross as soloists in their corresponding photo pages. Size is 7.2 x 9.5 inches, full program with all pages and covers, in excellent condition.

Program for the world premiere of this opera by John Harbison, December 20th, 1999, Metropolitan Opera, New York. Signed by the composer on the cast page. Full program with all pages and covers, size is 5.2 x 8.4 inches, in excellent condition.

Signed program page for a concert performance dedicated to Jenny Lind, photo from program shows Hempel in costume as Jenny Lind. Size is 4.25 x 7.25 inches, in very good condition.

Program for a performance of Hans Werner Henze's opera at the King's Theatre, Edinburg, on August 25, 27, and 29th, 1970, signed by the composer himself, Alexander Gibson (Artistic Director), and Fausto Moroni (Costumes Designer). Size is 3.9 x 10 inches, full program with all pages and covers, in excellent condition.

German baritone (1863-1947), and German tenor (1874-1935), double signed concert program at the Musikalischer Verain in Gera, Germany, dated November 11, 1910. Clear and bold signatures above and below the program listing. Size is 8.5 x 11.75 inches, slight wear on edges but otherwise in very good condition. Also included: 2 unsigned photos, one of Hoffmann as Jochanaan in Strauss's Salome, size is 3.3 x 5.4 inches, and the other of Hensel as Erik in Wagner's Der Fliegende Hollander, sized at 3.5 x 5.5 inches, both in excellent condition. 

Album page with a cast page clip attached on each side as follows: cast page for a performance of Verdi's Il Trovatore at the Metropolitan Opera on March 13, 1913, signed by both artists.  Another cast page clip on verso from Aida staged on March 6, 1913, signed only by Homer as Amneris. Total size is 7.3 x 9.75 inches, in excellent condition.

Program for a performance of the celebrated American contralto in Long Beach (California) on November 1, 1927, signed by her in pencil and also by her husband Sydney and one of her daughters. Size is 6 x 8.8 inches, full program with all pages and covers, in excellent condition.

Italian baritone (1894-1959) celebrated in many Italian opera houses. Signed Program for a performance of Montemezzi's L'amore Dei Tre Re with the Royal Opera, Covent Garden, London on July 4, 1930.  This is a four page folded document, containing a full English language synopsis of the opera, and two identical cast pages for the same performance, his hand-written signature is on the first of these multiple cast pages (other pages are not scanned).  These performances also featured such noteworthy singers as Rosa Ponselle, Ezio Pinza, and Francesco Merli. Size of each page is 7.5 x 10 inches, some creases and folds, otherwise in very good condition.  

Program for a 1939 concert performance of operatic arias, duets, trios, and quartets presented at the State Teachers College of West Chester, Pennsylvania, signed on the cover page by each of the four artists listed above.  4 page folded program including 2 program pages (see second scan). Size of each page is 5.5 x 8 inches, in excellent condition.

Brochure with many pictures and illustrations for a performance of Lehar's operetta Die Lustige Witwe, on November 27th, 1944, signed by Jan Kiepura and Wilma Spence.  Size is 8.9 x 11.8 inches, full program with all pages and covers, in very good condition. Brochure includes a program insert with a size of 6 x 9 inches, plus a newspaper clip with a review of the performance.

English contralto (1873-1930). Set of 1 autograph note signed, 1 page written in English, dated in London in 1909, size is 7 x 10 inches, several creases, otherwise in good condition, along with signed 8 x 10 inch program page from a concert in London's Wigmore Hall, both items signed only as "Kirkby Lunn". Small tear on the left side of the program page, otherwise in good condition. Not sold separately. 

Signed program book containing full program materials for several performances of Puccini's Madama Butterfly and Rossini's Barbiere Di Siviglia presented by the Greek Theatre Association in Los Angeles, California, in 1975, with signatures of each of the artists listed above, signatures are on each cast page. Several of the artists (i.e. Guarrera and Love) were involved in both performances and therefore this item contains two signatures from each of them. Full program book of 48 pages, containing all pages and covers, size of each page is 6 x 9 inches, small stain on front cover page (not scanned), otherwise in very good condition

Star Spanish tenor (1927-1999), widely known for his interpretations of Bel Canto roles and French opera.  Signed publicity sheet for a record store public autograph signing at the Barnes and Noble record and bookstore in New York, dated in 1980. Size is 6 x 9 inches, noticeable crease in middle, otherwise in very good condition. 

Opera Magazine issue from August 1995 dedicated to James Levine, signed by him on the front cover by the star American conductor.  Size is 5.5 x 8.5 inches, full magazine with all pages and covers.

Program for the Met Opera Guild annual luncheon, April 17th, 1996, featuring James Levine on the cover, where he signed. Full program with all pages and covers, approx. 8 x 11 inches, excellent condition.

Swiss-born Star Italian tenor (1968-2011), signed playbill for a 1999 performance of Verdi's La Forza del Destino at La Scala, Milan. Size is 7 x 10.5 inches, in excellent condition.

Program for a performance of the Hungarian-born soprano in Vienna, on October 17, 1910, signed by her over the top of the first page. Size is 8.7 x 11.4 inches, 4 pages, some water stains, minor cracks, storage holes, in good condition.

Program for a performance of "Arabian Nights", a musical with Lauritz Melchior as the Sultan. Performance at the Jones Beach Theater in the waterfront state park of the same name, in New York state. Melchior signed under his photo in his profile page, full program with all pages and covers, with many photos inside, circa 1955. Size is 8.5 x 11 inches, in excellent condition

Set of 2 programs for her performances signed by her on the front cover. One of them is also signed by her pianist Ralph Linsley. Size is 6.2 x 9.4 inches, 4 pages, in very good condition.
