Belgian-born mezzo-soprano (1875-1957), with a long career in both opera, musical comedy and operetta. Signed photo, shown in role, dated in 1946. Inscribed to Leo Riemens. Very clear handwriting and signature. Size is 3.5 x 4.5 inches, small smudge on bottom right outside of the area of photo and signature and mounting traces on verso but otherwise in excellent condition.

Finnish bass (b. 1946), signed photo, shown as himself. Size is 4 x 5.75 inches, in excellent condition.

Published by C. Muquardt, signed (initialized) and inscribed on first page by the Author, who dated in 1870. Includes original photograph depicting a statuette of the author, 317 pages of text, 7 plates with original photographs. Size is 6.25 x 9.25 inches, minor damage on spine, otherwise in excellent condition.

Natural history, general and particular, containing the Epochs of nature. Volume thirteenth (13) only of this work (23 volumes in total). Published by the royal printing office, Paris, 1778. Full-calf brown of the time with the back to five nerves. 372 pages, 6 inset boards. The binding shows wear, minor aging tone on borders, in the interior in great condition.

Published by Albin Michel, Paris, 1927, 314 pages, 5 x 7.5 inches, first edition, copy nr. 242, one of the 350 on Holland paper (1st paper before 600 on verged pure thread Vincent Montgolfier and an indeterminate number on Alfa). Very good copy.

Three small volumes (3.5 x 5.5 inches) in half-tan sheepskin, red title piece on spine, nr. of pages: 358 + 356 + 323+XVII (tables) for volumes 1, 2 and 3 respectively.  A folding frontispiece board for each volume: View of the Fountain of Vaucluse, View of the port of Marseille (small marginal wet), View of the Arsenal and the port of Toulon (small marginal wet). Book written by Laurent-Pierre Bérenger (1749-1822), associate member of the Athénée du Vaucluse and member of the Epicurean Troubadour Society of Marseille.  Some wear on covers and spine, ownership writing, overall in good condition.

Published in Paris by Gabriel Quinet, 1678. 1st Edition. Full-Leather bound with gilded spine and all borders, 3.5 x 5.5 inches, 617 pp. 3-parts in I small volume. A charming collection of prose and poetry, many of them dedicated to the King. Filled with sonnets, madrigals and elegies, a rare poetry antique book, in very good condition.

Two musical almanacs listing events and institutions in Paris, years 1862 and 1863, by Moleri & Comettant, published by Collignon and Gerard, Paris. Each almanac describes events and institutions, including some important names in the musical life of Paris, like Ambroise Thomas, Jules Massenet, Daniel Auber, etc. Each one is 64 pages, some illustrations, spines are in poor condition with lose pages, otherwise in good condition, no stains or missing pages. See scans of covers, and a couple of internal pages as example.

Irish composer (1808-1870), best known for his opera The Bohemian Girl and other operatic works. Balfe was also a conductor and pursued a career as a singer as well. Autograph note signed, to famous Italian soprano Fanny Persiani (1812-1867) (who created the role of Lucia di Lammermoor in the 1835 world premiere). Balfe is asking her to replace nothing less than Giulia Grisi in a terzetto from his opera Falstaff (Grisi performed at the 1838 world premiere in London), probably in an upcoming concert performance.  One page, 5.25 x 4 inches, signed as Balfe, some toning over the lower border, otherwise in very good condition.

Czech-born French composer (1770-1836), a friend of Beethoven, known today for his wind ensemble music and for having taught Berlioz, Liszt and Franck.  Autograph letter signed, dated in Paris in 1826, in French, to French composer Alphonse de Feltre (1806-1850), then 20 years old and also one of Reicha´s students. Reicha tries to arrange an appointment. One page folded in two to a size of 4.25 x 6.75 inches, in excellent condition.

French composer (1862-1918), and one of the most prominent figures of impressionist music. Autograph letter signed, dated on January 4th, 1904, to a friend, in French. One page, 4.5 x 7 inches, to a doctor (Abel Desjardins), who had recently treated his wife`s father (her name was Lilly Texier, married since 1899), about an invitation for dinner. Sold with transcription, in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED is a modern photo print of a portrait of the composer, perfect for framing together with this letter. French composer (1823-1909) and music critic, Reyer is mostly known for his operas, of which Sigurd (1884) and Salammbo (1890) were the most successful. Fine photo postcard from the series C. Coquelin signed by the composer. Size is 3.4 x 5.4 inches, in excellent condition.

Russian, later French and American composer (1882-1971), widely considered one of the most important of the 20th century. Signed photo, shown from behind at the podium conducting, on the occasion of a performance of his violin concerto at Hollywood High School, 1940, by the American violinist and friend Sol Babitz (1911-1982). Stravinsky inscribed this photo to Batitz, and dated his signature on Oct 27th, 1940. This is an original photograph by Otto Rothschild, who stamped on ink on verso, size is 10 x 8 inches. Minor tape residues over borders and some small creases, otherwise in very good condition.

Russian baritone (dates unknown) associated with the Petrograd Opera but who also performed frequently abroad. Signed photo postcard, shown in title role of Mozart's Don Giovanni, dated in 1914. Blind stamped by photographer. Size is 3.3 x 5.3 inches, in excellent condition.

Legendary Russian baritone (1829-1906) who sang the title role in the first complete performance of Modest Mussorgsky's Boris Godunov. He also appeared in many other world premiere productions, creating the roles of Don Carlos in Dargomyshski's "The stone guest", Prince Tokmakov in Rimsky-Korsakov's "The Maid of Pskov", the title roles of Rubinstein's "The Demon" Borodin's "Prince Igor", as well as roles in four of Tchaikovsky's operas: Prince Vyazminsky in "Oprichnik" (1874), a devil from hell in "Vakula the Smith" (1876), Prince Kurlyatev in "The Enchantress" (1887) and Count Tomsky in "The Queen of Spades" (1890).  Beautiful large cabinet photo, shown in role. Inscribed. Verso contains engraved name of photographer Charles Bergamasco, Imperial Theatres of St. Petersburg. Size is 4.25 x 6.5 inches, in excellent condition, beautifully well-preserved.
