Italian-born American cellist and baritone (1855-1927), Campanari had a very successful career as a cellist which he later quit in order to start an also successful career as a baritone, eventually singing at the Met Opera and other important opera theaters. Beautiful signed cabinet photo by Aime Dupont, dated by him in 1910 , inscribed, in excellent condition. Size is 4.25 x 6.5 inches

Famous German Wagnerian tenor (1856-1898), very admired in his time who had a short but very successful career in both Europe and America. Alvary retired in 1897, at the peak of his career, due to a serious accident during a rehearsal of Siegfried in Germany. Alvary died the next year at age 42. Signature on card, dated by him in 1896, just before he retired, mounted in a mat with a beautiful late 1800s print, showing him as Siegfried (one of his most famous roles). Also part of the set is a rare ORIGINAL cast page clip from a Met Opera program for a performance of Siegfried in 1889, with Max Alvary performing in the title role. Total mat size is 17.25 (width) x 18.5 inches (height). Card with signature is 3.25 x 1.75 inches (visible window size), vintage print of Alvary as Siegfried is 7.5 x 11.5 inches (visible window size), Met Opera program clip is 4.25 x 8 inches (visible window size). In excellent condition, ready to frame if desired.

Beautiful matted set - Card signed by him with a short sentiment, dated in 1896 - Matted together with an original Metropolitan Opera playbill from the late 1890s announcing an upcoming performance of Les Huguenots with Jean De Rezske as Raoul de Nangis, his brother Edouard as Marcello, Pol Plancon as the Count of San Bris, Lillian Nordica as Valentine, Nellie Melba as Margherita di Valois - quite a cast!. Also part of the mat set is a half-tone photo of De Rezske as Raoul. Overal size is 17 x 16.25 inches, card is 3.25 x 1.75 inches (visible window size), playbill is 4 x 7.5 inches (visible size) and photo is 6.75 x 9.25 inches - in excellent condition!
