American soprano (1878-1919) who developed a very successful international career in her time, died at the age of 40 after 8 years of illness in retirement. Signed text quote "When you know not what to say - do not say you know not what". Dated on December 25th, 1907 in New York, with her signature across.

Quote is nicely matted with a cabinet photo of her by Dupont, size is 13.75 x 9.75 inches (total), 4.1 x 5.75 inches (autograph note, visible window size), and 3.75 x 5.75 inches (photo, visible window size), in excellent condition. Rare!
