Lot of 19 unsigned cabinet-type photos from the Opera Comique, Theatre Italien and others in Paris, dated 1874-1876. Each one is 4.25 x 6.5 inches, some are dirty with dust, probably caused by water damage.  Singers names are: Adolphe Duchesne, Enrico Delle-Sedie in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Eugene Caron as Nevers in Les Huguenots, Gilbert Duprez, Giovanni Zucchini, Gustave Roger, Jacques Bouhy, Jean-Baptiste Faure in role, Jean Lassalle as Nelusko in L`Africaine plus another one of him as himself, Jean-Vital Ismael, Jules-Alexandre Bosquin, Leon Melchissedec, Louis-Henri Obin, Marius Salomon, Pierre Gailhard, Pierre-Francois Villaret, Pierre-Jules Michot in Die Zauberflote and Victor Capoul. Scans may show some trimming on borders, actual items are not trimmed. Photos are in various conditions, some scratches or tears, broken corners, dirt, sold as a lot and as is, not individually.

Oskar Maleczky (1894–1972), a distinguished Hungarian baritone, is shown in role, likely portraying Alberich in Wagner’s Ring des Nibelungen. Signed in 1969 and including a short handwritten message, size is 3.5 x 5.5 inches and is a fine black-and-white postcard format.

French actor (b.1955), twin brother of the famous actor Pierre Malet; active in films since 1978. Fantastic black-and-white photo postcard signed and inscribed by him, dated in 1989. Size is 5.8 x 4.1 inches, in excellent condition.

Famous French-born mezzo- (1808-1836), one of the greatest singers in her time, who died at age 28. Autograph letter signed as Maria de Beriot, her married name. in French with postcript in English, to a doctor. This is probably from around the mid 1830s, close to the time when she passed away. One page, handwritten on both sides, minor creases, tear from top margin, not affecting the text, undated. Malibran expresses that she is complicated by "the impossibility in which affairs have prevented me from going to embrace you all...We accept with great pleasure the opportunity to have offered us of spending some hours with you. Every day I have thought of visiting you, but the devil has shoved his tail and all my plans have been sunk...". Both a full translation and a transcription are provided, together with a vintage print of Malibran. Very rare!

Spanish soprano (1808-1836) who commonly sang both contralto and soprano parts, and was one of the best-known opera singers of the XIX century. Incomplete autograph note on a folio, in French (sold untranslated) written by Malibran (not signed), mounted on cardboard, when she was leaving England to the United States (New York). Size is 4 x 4.8 inches, no signature or name, in very good condition.  See scan of pages 2 and 3 of the folio, where someone named N. Bartholomew wrote this was written by Malibran on her departure to New York.
