Set of 2 playbills mounted on a page for a performance of Verdi's "La Traviata" starred by Adelina Patti, Bellini's "La Sonnambula" starred by Emma Nevada, and Verdi's "Ernani" by Louise Dotti, at the Academy of Music, New York, January 1885.  On verso, a playbill announces the performance of other operas at the same opera house starring Patti, Nevada, Scalchi, and others. Total size is 6.75 x 16.1 inches, in overall very good condition.

Text is in English, but there is also a typed English transcription, a folded 8.5 x 11-inch document. Attractive historical item, in excellent condition.

May God give us complete victory at the end and to them the most severe punishment they so justly deserve." Size is 4.4 x 7 inches, 4 written pages in one folio, in overall very good condition. ALSO INCLUDED are the original envelope, her photo postcard, and the transcription of the letter (not shown).

His real name was Henri Roger De Cahuzac -Marquis de Caux- (1825-1889), husband to the celebrated opera singer Adelina Patti. Autograph letter in Franch signed by him as "M. de Caux", dated in St. Petersburg, no specific date mentioned, to a Maestro presumably regarding a staging concerning his wife, as follows: "Before I can express any opinion on the proposals you have forwarded to me, allow me to ask you for some information which I need to have. I wanted to know which Theatre is asking for the assistance of Madame Adelina Patti, by which impresario it is exploited, if it is a particular company, or if the state has something to do with it...". Size is 5 x 7.9 inches, two written pages in one sheet (front and verso), folds, and some dirt smudges, in overall very good condition.
