Instrumentalist Autographs & Memorabilia ($100 - $250)

New Zealand-born Australian flute player (1883-1964), who performed with orchestras around the world and made a career as an international soloist.  Larger size photograph mounted on a slightly larger black cardboard signed and inscribed with a short sentiment by the flutist, dated in 1928; photo by Ep. Short & Son, Nottingham.  Total size is 8 x 13.5 inches, actual photo is 5.5 x 8 inches, some silvering over the edges and stains over the upper border, in overall good condition.

English harpist (1804-1871), who made most of his career touring and as a professor of The Royal Academy of Music. Fine autograph letter signed, one page, size is 5 x 8 inches, in English, sold un-transliterated, in very good condition.

Dutch flutist (1807-1872) and professor at the Swedish Academy of Music. Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by him, dated in Utrecht, May 1, 1855, where he addresses the flute manufacturer Godfroy, asking for an exchange of flutes: “…je vous voudrais bien demander d’avoir la bonté de me permettre de la renvoyer et d’avoir en échange pour elle le flûte avec 12 clarets que vous m’avez envoyé…”.  Size is 5.4 x 8.4 inches, 1 written pages, folds and creases, overall age toning, dust and rust stains, in overall good condition.

Italian composer (1895-1968), pianist, and writer, best known as one of the foremost guitar composers in the XX Century.  Printed score for the piece "La Vita Nova" for piano and voice, signed and inscribed by him on the first page, dated in Beverly Hills, California, 1958.  Size is 9 x 12 inches, full score with all pages and covers (front cover is loose), minor rust on edges, in very good condition.

Famous American harpist (1895-1983). Beautiful photograph signed and inscribed by her with a short sentiment, dated in 1956. Also included a short sentiment note, dated in 1942. Size is 8 x 10 inches, in very good condition.

Irish virtuoso flute player (b.1939), who established an international career as a solo flute player. Gorgeous larger size color Cibachrome* print photo signed and dated by the star flute player in 1981, shown in rehearsal in Philadelphia; also signed on verso by photographer Allen Winigrad.  Size is 14 x 11 inches, mounting traces on verso, otherwise in excellent condition. *Cibachrome prints are high-quality prints from color transparency enlarged onto reversal color paper. This paper already has the emulsion incorporated and gives exceptional color brilliance.

Famous American clarinetist and jazz bandleader (1909-1986). Gorgeous photograph signed by him, shown with his clarinet. Size is 10 x 8 inches, in excellent condition.

French-born American harpist (1891-1975) and composer. Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by him, no date. Size is 5.25 x 7.25 inches, 1 page, in excellent condition.

Belgian-born French harpist (1845-1912), who was also a composer and pedagogue. Autograph note in French (sold untranslated) signed and dated by him in Paris, 1902. Size is 4.25 x 5.25 inches, in excellent condition.

American composer (1911-2007), and instrumentalist. Fine sepia photograph mounted on a booklet signed and inscribed by him with a short sentiment and a 4-bar music quote dated 1950. Size is 7 x 9.25 inches, in excellent condition.

Celebrated French flutist (1922-2000) who has been personally credited with returning to the flute the popularity of a solo instrument it had not held since the 18th century. Gorgeous black-and-white photograph mounted on hard cardboard signed and inscribed by him with a short sentiment, shown in rehearsal.  Size is 9.8 x 7.75 inches, in excellent condition.

French clarinetist (1858-1941), and musical instruments manufacturer, founder of the eponymous woodwind instrument company. Typed letter in French (untranslated) signed by him, dated in Paris, March 17, 1931, where he addresses Monsieur Maranne, recommending him to contact Mr. Sax and asking for his general Catalogue of musical instruments.  Size is 8.2 x 10.8 inches, 1 typed page, with printed letterhead, evident signs of folding, some creases, in overall very good condition.
