Star Ukrainian violinist (1891-1967), one of the greatest violin players of the early 20th century. A page with the letterhead of the Russian Tea Room signed by the violinist with a short sentiment in New York, on March 8th, 1934.  Size is 5.9 x 9.4 inches, small lose of paper over the lower-right corner, folds, otherwise in excellent condition.

Ukrainian-born American violinist (1891-1967) famed for his passionate style, beautiful tone, and impeccable artistry and musicality. German violinist who was mostly known as a performer in ensembles. Fine black-and-white photo postcard signed and inscribed by him on verso, with a short sentiment in German, dated in Munich, 1971.  In excellent condition.

Moravian violinist, violist and composer (1812-1865), one of the greatest violin virtuosos of his time and considered a proud successor of Paganini. Ernst was also an accomplished composer and discovered new ways to create polyphonically conceived music for the instrument.  Autograph music quote with 4 bars from an unknown piece, signed by him. Size is 8.25 x 3.4 inches, probably a clip cut from an album page, left border is a bit irregular, 2 folds, minor stains, in overall very good condition.

German cellist (1849-1918) and conductor, who world-premiered Wagner's opera "Die Feen" posthumously in 1888. Gorgeous photograph mounted on a photographer mat, signed and inscribed by the cellist with a short sentiment on top, dated in Barcelona, 1902.  An original photograph by A. & E. F. Dits Napoleon, Barcelona.  Size is 6.5 x 8.8 inches, some water stains and a pinhole over the top, in overall very good condition. Rare!

French cellist (1906-1986), praised for his talent and peculiar majestic sound. Attractive biography of Fournier signed by him on a "front matter page" just before the title page. Short (34 page) book including all pages and covers, published by Rene Kister, Geneva, with many attractive photographs along with text (including reflections by Fournier himself). Photos are by Roger Hauert, text written by Bernard Gavoty. Size is 7 x 10.5 inches, some tears on the cover, otherwise in very good condition.

Beautiful black-and-white photograph shown young, signed and inscribed by him with a short sentiment in French, dated in 1938.  Size is 6.25 x 8.3 inches, mounting traces on verso, minor scratches on front, otherwise in very good condition.

French violinist ((1822-1878), composer, and teacher of Music History at the Conservatoire de Paris from 1872 until his death. Autograph letter in French signed by him, dated July 1868, to a gentleman, recommending his friend the pianist and composer Jules Meilhan "... He is a friend of mine and, as you will see, a quite remarkable artist...". Size is 5.2 x 8.1 inches, 1 page, overall rust tone, light smudge over ink, in overall excellent condition.

Hungarian violinist and conductor (1897-1971), who was one of the most famous Kapellmeister, in the 20s and 30s in Grmany. Signed promo photo, shown playing. Size is 3.5 x 5.5 inches, in excellent condition.

French violinist (1849-1895) and composer, best known for his opera "Jocelyn", 5 symphonies, and other works. Lot of fourteen documents: thirteen signed autograph letters and one autograph dedication signed by the French composer and violinist. We report an extract as a sample: “…vous m’aviez très amicalement demandé de chanter mes villanelles à la trompette et j’aurais été heureux de vous les accompagner, mais, d’après la note placée au bas du programme de samedi prochain, vous avez dû voir que je ne faisais plus partie de ces séances…”. The lot has a total of 24 pp. In-8. Included: portrait of the composer engraved by the painter Paul Mathey. In-4. ; two autograph letters signed by A. French violinist (1849-1895) and composer, best known for his opera "Jocelyn", 5 symphonies, and other works. Two important biographical autograph letters in French (untranslated) signed by him, both from 1880, addressed to his future wife Madame Godard. We report an extract as a sample. 25/7 1880: “…j’ai été charmé de la bonne journée que j’ai passée avec vous et votre aimable famille; je vous remercie de votre cordiale réception. Je vous envoie par le même courrier trois morceaux pour le piano (…) Pourrai-je me permettre sur le titre du morceau de mettre à mon élève M.me Feydeau ?…”.  Each one has 3 written pages in one folded sheet, open size is 10.5 x 8.2 inches each letter, folds, creases, dirt stains, in overall very good condition. Beautifully colorized carte-de-visite (CDV) signed by him, dated in Boston, 1872; photo by E.S. Dunshee, Boston.  Size is 2.5 x 3.8 inches, trimmed at the top from a larger size, some spotted stains, otherwise in good condition.
