French composer and musicologist (1857-1936), a pioneer in ethnomusicology.  Autograph note on a card, signed by him, no year, written in French (sold untranslated).  Size is 4.4 x 3.4 inches, mounting traces on verso, in excellent condition.

German composer (1887-1971) and teacher; a prestigious figure in the Berlin cultural scene during the 1930s. Autograph note in German on the verso of a black-and-white photo postcard of him, signed by him and dated June 23, 1920, to the lawyer and composer Fritz Brandt (1880-1949), on personal matters.  Size is 3.5 x 5.5 inches, overall rust tone on the back, clear crease over the upper-right corner, otherwise in excellent condition.

German composer (1879-1968), pianist, conductor and critic. Autograph letter on a postcard signed by him in 1933. Size is 4.1 x 5.8 inches, in excellent condition.

Austrian composer (1909-1992), violist, music teacher, and conductor. 6-bar music quote from his musical drama "Gilgamesh" signed and inscribed by him, dated 1991. Size is 8.2 x 11.6 inches, in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED is a small unsigned half-tone clip photograph of him. Size is 2.1 x 2.5 inches, in very good condition.

Belgian-American composer, conductor, and founding conductor of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (1858-1929). Autograph musical quote signed on a signature cut, 3 bars of music, dated in New York in 1885. Size is 2.25 x 4.5 inches, in very good condition. 

French composer (1844-1908). Autograph letter in Frenc signed by him, no date indicated, addressed to librettist Francois Oswald sharing his thoughts about some of his own works. Size is 4.4 x 6.9 inches, two written pages in one sheet (front and back), no translation included, central fold, overall rust tone, in very good condition.

French composer (1863-1931), who was also conductor and music teacher, mainly active in Paris. Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by him, no date, with letterhead. Size is 5.3 x 8.4 inches, 1 page, loss of paper over the lower-left corner, otherwise in excellent condition.

ALSO INCLUDED are 2 autograph letters signed: one of them has 2 pages, dated in 1943 with a letterhead from a Hotel in Chicago, size 7.25 x 10.5 inches, folds, in excellent condition; the other is 1 page with a letterhead from a hotel in New York, no year, size 6 x 9.4 inches, folds, in very good condition.

American composer (1917-2013), best remembered for his opera "The Crucible" (1961). Extended 9-bar autograph music quote from act IV of his opera "The Crucible" (1961) on a music sheet signed and inscribed by him with a short sentiment. Size is 8.5 x 11 inches, in excellent condition.

British composer (b.1928) and also an educator. Full page autograph music quote with 5 bars from his oratorio "The Passion" (1962) signed by him.  Size is 8.5 x 10.9 inches, in excellent condition.

German composer (1823-1905) and writer. Autograph letter in German signed by him, dated December 23, 1883, to a music director, concerning upcoming business:  "... I would have another year like that and that is Italy and Germany, which is as for me even more binding and obligatory must hold more moderately besides, my financial circumstances are due to a limited nature...". Size is 8.3 x 10.3 inches, 2 written pages in one sheet (front and back), creases, wrinks, folds, small crack over the top, in overall very good condition.

German composer and conductor (1810-1882), creator of mostly vocal music. Autograph letter signed, in German, dated in 1847. Four pages (sold untranslated), size is 4.25 x 5.25 inches, in excellent condition.

American composer (1902-1984), flutist, musical arranger, bandleader, and writer; best known for his musicals "The Music Man" and "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas". Typed letter signed by him, dated February 6, 1980, to Roger Davis: «...As per your phone request (...) we are enclosing herewith a fax copy (...) which we received from Terry MacGregor of the MacNider Museum (...) concerning the possibility of their obtaining for their archives a print of THE MUSIC MAN (...) This would be the one exception to our policy of not allowing non-profit showings of this film (...) We will insist that before it is turned over to them a Letter Agreement be executed with the Museum strictly limiting the conditions under which the film can be shown...».  Size is 8.5 x 11 inches, 1 page, folds, in excellent condition. The Charles H. MacNider Museum is a non-profit, municipally owned institution conceived in 1964 and opened in 1966 in Mason City, Iowa. ALSO INCLUDED are a copy of the same letter with autographed notes by the composer, and a Carbon-copy of the letter by MacGregor.

English composer (1921-1984). Autograph letter in English signed by him, dated Nov. 10, 1963, to Ms. Carla Hinrichsen widow of the German music publisher Henri Hinrichsen, informing her on the staging of his opera The Captive (1960) which: “....is having two performances at the Guildhall School of Music (...) I would be very pleased if you could come to see this as we have a good cast & the performance should be fair...”.  Size is 5.3 x 6.9 inches, 1 page, folds, letterhead, in very good condition.

French-born composer and conductor (1884-1970), mostly known for his work as conductor at the Metropolitan Opera and Teatro Colon.  Autograph music quote on a card with 4 bars of music, signed, inscribed, and dated by the composer in New York, 1920.  Size is 5.3 x 3.4 inches, in excellent condition.

American composer (1938-2020) of contemporary music based in New York City who also performed as a pianist and conductor. Autograph note in English with his letterhead signed by him and dated on November 4th, 1995, apologizing for not sending a photo. Size is 7.2 x 10.4 inches, in excellent condition.

French songwriter and artist (1867-1953), whose original name was Leon Fourneau.  Autograph note written in French (sold untranslated) on a card, signed by him.  Size is 5.2 x 3.4 inches, in excellent condition.

Korean-born composer (1917-1995). Card signed by him, mentioning his opera "Der Traum des Liu-Tung" (1965). Size is 5 x 3 inches, in excellent condition.

Austrian composer (1843-1922), a big rival in his time of the Strauss family. Autograph note with his letterhead signed by him and dated in Vienna, 1885. Size is 9 x 11.3 inches, folds, minor cracks, otherwise in excellent condition.
