World premiere Salzburger Festspiele 14.8.1952 with Annelies Kupper - Josip Gostic - Paul Schoffler - Laszlo Szemere, conductor Clemens Krauss. The first public performance (semi official world premiere) of this opera was the final public rehearsal at the Salzburg Festival 1944. The performance the day after was cancelled by Minister Goebbels. Because the work never received an offical world premiere this happened at the Salzburger Festspiele in 1952 with (again) Clemens Krauss conducting.
