Item #: M3132-OS7

Famous Italian conductor and composer (1858-1941), very active conducting opera between 1890 and 1920 in both Europe and South America. Mugnone conducted the world premiere of Tosca (Puccini), Mese Mariano (Giordano) and others, plus many Italian premieres of operas.

Signed wooden baton, dated in Buenos Aires in 1910, where he conducted at the Teatro de la Opera. Baton is 17 inches long, approx. 0.5 inches thick on one end and narrows to just 0.2 inches in the other end. In excellent condition, signature is faint but visible, date is more clear.

Two pages, with signature at the bottom of the 2nd page, in Italian, sold untranslated. Mugnone points 19 cuts in the score to the chorus master.
