Italian tenor (1887-1976), signed photo, shown in title role of Verdi's Otello. Inscribed and dated in 1940, Milan. Photo by M. Camuzzi, Milan. Size is 4 x 5.75 inches, in excellent condition.  

French tenor (1867-1943), signed photo postcard, shown in role, dated in 1908. Size is 3.5 x 5.5 inches, slight silvering on left side of photo, otherwise in excellent condition. 

Italian soprano (1811-1869), creator of the role of Adalgisa in Norma. One page receipt for 6000 francs with letterhead of the Theatre Royal Italien. Size is 6.75 x 9 inches, minor stains, folds and some smudges over signature, in very good condition.

Star Austrian tenor (1891-1948). One page signed contract for two recitals in Weymouth and Bexhill, England, 1946, receiveing a total of 80 pounds plus 30 pounds for expenses for each concert. Signed at the bottom, size is 8 x 12.5 inches, folds, small loss of paper over upper-left corner.

Italian baritone (1828-1901), who created the role of Don Carlo di Vargas in the premiere of La Forza del Destino. Contract for a performance at the Royal Italian Opera, Covent Garden, London. Three pages contract with Graziani's signatures on page two. Each page is 8.4 x 13 inches, folds, in very good condition.

French tenor (1825-1877), sang Aeneas in world premiere performances of Berlioz's Les Troyens in 1863. Autograph letter signed, written on embossed letterhead, 1 page written in French, sold untranslated. Attractive writing and signature in gold ink. Size is 5.25 x 8 inches, in excellent condition.

Australian contralto (1874-1929). Autograph letter signed, dated in 1907. 3 pages, each is 4.5 x 7 inches, the first two are mounted on one 8 x 11 album page, the third on another 8 x 11 page. In excellent condition.

English mezzo (1856-1925). Autograph note signed, dated in 1900. Size of note is 4.5 x 5.75 inches, mounted on larger album page, total size is 8 x 11 inches, in excellent condition.

Canadian soprano (1882-1970), starred in the world premiere production of L'Oracolo by Franco Leoni. Autograph letter signed, dated in 1907, 2 pages, size is 5.25 x 8.5 inches, in excellent condition. 

French tenor (1876-1950), who started his career well into his 30s and developed a very successful international career thanks to his beautiful voice and impressive stage appearance.  Two autograph letters signed, both written in French, sold untranslated. 1 item is sized at 4.5 x 5.5 inches, the other is 4.5 x 6 inches, slight paper loss on edges but generally in very good condition. Not sold separately.

French mezzo (1921-2004). Autograph letter signed, 1 page written in French, sold untranslated. Size is 5.25 x 8.25 inches, in excellent condition.

Super star Italian soprano (1843-1919), one of the greatest singers of the 19th century. Small note with her letterhead with quote "A beautiful voice is the gift of God", dated in 1901. One page, size is 4.4 x 5.75 inches, in excellent condition.

French soprano (1862-1940), autograph note signed, 1 page written in French, sold untranslated. Size is 4.5 x 7 inches, in excellent condition.

Belgian soprano (1874-1940), autograph note signed with embossed seal on top left, 1 page written in French, sold untranslated. Size is 5.5 x 7 inches, small ink stain to the left of the text, otherwise in excellent condition.

Swedish dramatic soprano (1861-1943). Autograph note signed, 1 page written in French, sold untranslated. Signed as "Sigrid Arnoldson-Fischof", reflected her marriage to Austrian impresario Alfred Fischof. Size is 4.5 x 5.5 inches, in excellent condition.

Group of 8 autographed items from leading operatic performers including John Charles Thomas, Lawrence Tibbett and Maggie Teyte, as well as a signed card from the actor James Lewis. Items include hand-written autograph letters signed and autograph notes signed, typed letters signed, signed cards, and signed album page. All are in excellent condition, sold only as lot.

French operetta soprano (1854-1922), appeared in the world premieres of several Offenbach operas. Autograph letter signed, dated in 1880, 4 pages written in French, sold untranslated. Size is 4 x 6 inches, in excellent condition.

Belgian mezzo-soprano (1834-1908), starred in the world premiere productions of Verdi's Don Carlo, Thomas's Hamlet, and La Coupe du roi de Thule by Eugene Diaz. Autograph letter signed, 2 pages, written in French, sold untranslated. Signed as "Pauline Gueymard". Size is 5.25 x 8.25 inches, small stain on top of second page not affecting the text, otherwise in excellent condition.

Ukrainian dramatic soprano (1822-1882), best known as a voice teacher. Autograph letter signed, written in London, in English, dated in 1870. 1 page, 4.5 x 7 inches, in excellent condition.

Italian baritone (1810-1890), starred in the 1842 world premiere performances of Verdi's Nabucco at La Scala, Milan as well as in the world premieres of 7 Donizetti operas including Maria Di Rohan and Il Campanello. Autograph letter signed, written in London, dated in 1850, 3 pages written in English, sold untranslated. Size is 5.5 x 8.5 inches, in excellent condition.

English soprano and esteemed voice teacher, wife of John Sims Reeves, the foremost English operatic, oratorio and ballad tenor vocalist of the mid-Victorian era. Autograph letter signed, on personal stationary, 3 pages, 4.5 x 7 inches, in excellent condition.

Italian baritone (1800-1876), autograph letter signed, dated in 1840, 1 page written in Italian, untranslated but sold with a typed transcription. Size is 5.25 x 8.25 inches, in excellent condition.

Italian baritone (1845-1921), husband of famous pianist Teresa Carreno. Autograph letter signed, written in New York, dated in 1897, 1 page written in English on his personal business letterhead. Size is 5.75 x 9 inches, in excellent condition.

French-Italian soprano, whose stage name was Antonia Delores, was the daughter of singer Zelia Trebelli-Bettini a French mezzo-soprano (1834-1892), and Alessandro Bettini, an Italian tenor (1825-1898), and the first to sing Carmen at the Metropolitan Opera in 1884. Autograph letter signed, 3 pages, dated in 1886, written in English. Size is 4.5 x 7 inches, small marks on sides of photo, otherwise in excellent condition. Also included: unsigned half-tone photo shown in role. 

German soprano (1828-1894), adopted by Richard Wagner's brother Albert, appeared as, Schwertleite in Die Walkure and the First Norn in Gotterdammerung in the original first full production of Der Ring des Nibelungen at the Bayreuth Festival, and also as Elisabeth in the world premiere of Tannhauser in 1845. Autograph letter signed, 1 page written in German, sold untranslated. Size is 5.5 x 8 inches, in very good condition.

English soprano (1845-1924), autograph note signed on personal stationary, dated in 1890. 1 page, size is 4 x 6 inches, in excellent condition.

English boy soprano, bass and composer (1780-1848), later a famous voice teacher. Autograph letter signed, 2 pages, size is 7 x 8.75 inches, slight wear on edges, but in generally very good condition.

Spanish baritone Mariano De Padilla (1842-1906). Autograph music quote signed from Rossini's Barbiere di Siviglia, dated in 1882, on 2.75 x 4.25 card in excellent condition.  ALSO INCLUDED is a signed card from his daughter French-Spanish soprano Lola Artot de Padilla (1876-1933), one of the most important sopranos in Germany during the early years of the 20th century, written in Baden-Baden, 2.5 x 4.25 inches, in excellent condition. SOLD TOGETHER, NOT SOLD SEPARATELY.

German soprano (1853-1883), sang Grimgerde in the premiere performances of Richard Wagner's Die Walkure in the first complete performances of the entire Ring Cycle at the inaugural 1876 Bayreuth season.  3-page letter in German, sold with an typed English translation. Written at Bayreuth on July 20, 1876 - apparently to Wagner himself - asking for lodgings during the festival. Fascinating and rare vintage document, size is 5.5 x 8.5 inches, in excellent condition. 

French bass (1858-1926). Autograph letter signed, 1 page, written in French (sold untranslated). Size is 4.5 x 5.5 inches, small cracks at bottom and top of the page not affecting the writing, otherwise in excellent condition.

American soprano (1897-1981), one of the best sopranos of the last 100 years, recognized for performing mainly at the Metropolitan Opera of New York. Typed signed note, on home stationary, dated in 1954.Size is 6 x 7 inches, in excellent condition. 

Group of 11 signed cards from classic opera performers from the late nineteenth to early twentieth century, including Amelita Galli-Curci, Edoardo Garbin, Frederick Jagel, Giovanni Zenatello, and Luisa Tetrazinni. Sizes range from 3.5 x 5.5 inches to 4.25 x 5 inches, most are 3.5 x 5.5. In excellent condition, sold only as lot.

English contralto (1833-1882), sang internationally from the 1840s to the early 1880s. Autograph letter signed, dated in 1880, 4 pages. Size is 4 x 6.25 inches, in excellent condition.

American baritone, actor and radio personality (1896-1960), who performed about 600 performances in leading roles at the Met Opera. Two typed letters signed, 1 page each, one dated in 1934 and the other in 1942. Each is 7.25 x 10.5 inches, in excellent condition, not sold separately. 

Italian baritone (1888-1968), performed frequently at La Scala and other European houses.  Typed "LS" (signed and sealed) contract with La Scala, Milan, dated in 1934, 2 sided document, with Stabile's handwritten signature and  official stamp of La Scala Theatre director on verso. Size is 8.5 x 12 inches, in excellent condition.

Polish soprano (1855-1891), sister of the famous brothers Jean (tenor) and Edouard (bass) de Reszke. Josephine had a successful career in Europa and in America, and world premiered in an opera by Massenet, however, retired early and died at age 36. Autograph letter signed, 2 pages of text on a 4 page folded document, written in French, size is 4.5 inches, in excellent condition. 

Star American contralto (1871-1947). One autograph letter signed, dated in 1902, 3 pages of text on a 4-page folded document, size is 5 x 6.25 inches, and one brief typed letter signed, dated in 1926 following a groundbreaking ceremony in San Francisco for a new hotel following an earthquake, sized at 6.5 x 7.25 inches. Also included: unsigned photo in Orpheus and Eurydice. All in excellent condition, SOLD TOGETHER, NOT SOLD SEPARATELY.  

Italian mezzo-soprano (1920-2003), very famous in 1940s- 1960s for Italian opera repertoire, especially Verdi. Lot of 3 typed letters signed written to La Scala impresario Antonio Ghiringhelli. All in Italian, sold untranslated. 1 letter typed in 1947, the other 2 in 1950. Of various lengths, all are in excellent condition. Sold only as lot. 

Italian soprano (1904-1998). Autograph letter signed written to La Scala administration, dated in 1963. Written in Italian, sold untranslated. Size is 8.5 x 11 inches, in excellent condition.

Group of autograph letters signed and typed letters signed associated from singers associated with La Scala, Milan during the twentieth century, mostly at mid-century. Includes such major performers as Maria Caniglia, Maria Carbone, Mafalda Favero, and Gina Cigna, written in Italian (often to La Scala administration), sold untranslated.
