Stamped on verso by photographer Letzer, Vienna, who also blind stamped this photo on the front, lower right corner, damage on all four corners, otherwise very good.

Schumann was known for her many recordings and close association with composer Richard Strauss, while Gallos partnered with her many times at the Vienna State Opera. Star Italian tenor (1810-1879), one of the most famous in this time. Salvi sang in the world premieres of several operas by Donizetti (Il Diluvio Universale, Betly, Gianni di Parigi, Adelia) and Verdi (his first opera Oberto, and his second, Un Giorno di Regno).  Autographed print with a portrait of him by Josef Kriehuber. Salvi wrote a short sentiment, his name, and dated this in 1844. Size is 13 x 18.5 inches, minor stains and creases, overall in very good condition. Rare!

French mezzo-soprano (1821-1910), highly distinguished as a singer, teacher, and composer, Viardot was crucial in the career of many singers of her time. Autograph letter signed with full name, in French, dated in Norwich in 1852, sold untranslated. One page, 4.5 x 7 inches, has 4 additional lines on her handwriting on verso, and a short note in English made by another hand.  Also included is a print of her, shown young, 5 x 7 inches, which could be used to frame next to this letter. All in very good condition.

German baritone (1849-1903), who developed a great career on both sides of the Atlantic. Nice signed cabinet photo, shown in role, inscribed and dated in New York in 1891. Size is 4.25 x 6.5 inches, a photo by Krziewanek, Vienna, some damage on the lower left corner, otherwise in very good condition.
