Gerstäcker was the first Florestan in Hamburg, and the first Max (Der Freischutz) in Hannover where he died at age 37. Autograph letter signed, 1 page, in German (sold untranslated), 7 x 10.25 inches, dated in Dresden in 1820. Mounted on a piece of paper, has folds and some paper loss over the right border, otherwise in good condition.
