Vintage clips from L`Illustration, Journal Universel, issued in November 1843, just days after the world premiere of Donizetti´s opera "Don Sebastien" (which took place in Paris on November 13th). Two original clips, attached to both sides of a white cardboard, sized 12.6 x 9.4 inches, one side with a scene from the 3rd act, in a public square (clip is 9.25 x 6.75 inches), verso with a drawing depicting Nicolas Levasseur, who performed as The Great Inquisitor in the world premiere (clip is 3.2 x 4.75 inches). All in excellent condition.

French soprano (1853-1911), also known as Blanche Dieudonne. Very long autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by her, no date mentioned, by the French soprano where she shares her thoughts on the role of Violetta Valéry in La Traviata and the problems she had performing it. On the first 3 pages on the first sheet, there is an autograph letter signed by Valérie Dieudonné to a gentleman, concerning her sister, who will soon start to sing again. Size is 4.3 x 7 inches, 5 written pages in total, folds, in overall very good condition.

French soprano (1853-1911), also known as Blanche Dieudonne. Long autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by her where she describes her last night debut. Size is 4.1 x 6.5 inches each page, 8 written pages in two folded sheets, folds, creases, in overall very good condition.

Small archive of album pages with playbills for performances of the Italian soprano (1855-?) at Teatro Costanzi (3 playbills), Teatro Bellini (3 playbills), plus newspaper clips about her performances between 1883 and 1884.  Album pages' size is 8.25 x 11.8 inches each one, clips in different sizes, everything in very good condition. Autograph letter in Italian (untranslated) signed by him and dated 1937 giving support and condolences to a friend. Size is 8.3 x 11.2 inches approx., Arena di Verona letterhead, central fold, missing upper-left corner, in very good condition.

Stage director (1907-1975) and also composer, for many years was the Artistic director at the Chicago Lyric Opera, then superintendent in Arena di Verona and in Bologna. Donati was the husband of famous soprano Maria Caniglia (1905-1979). Large signed photo of a portrait of him, inscribed and dated in 1960. Size is 11 x 13.8 inches, in excellent condition.

German baritone (b.1938), signed photo shown in role in Der Fliegende Hollander. Size is 5 x 7 inches.

  Italian singer (1848-?), daughter of the actor Cesare, she is remembered for her performance in Diana di Chaverny by Carlo d'Ormeville. Autograph letter in Italian (untranslated) signed by her, dated in Bologna, May 30, 1877, addressed to the dancer Amina Boschetti (1836-1881) sharing her plans to debut in an important theater such as San Carlo in Naples. Size is 3.8 x 6.1 inches, 3 written pages, folds, in very good condition.

German admiral (1891-1980) who briefly succeeded Adolf Hitler as head of state in May 1945. Typed copy of the formal instrument of surrender of all German forces to American General Dwight Eisenhower signed by him back on May 7, 1945, and now signed by him on September 3, 1975. Size is 7.6 x 8.2 inches, 1 page, central fold, in excellent condition.

Autograph letter in French (sold untranslated) signed by him, no year indicated, with his embossed letterhead. Size is 5.25 x 8 inches, in excellent condition.

Autograph letter signed, no year but mail stamped on verso in 1839, to an unknown recipient (Vicomte Valph), about a dinner the night before and a financial debt with this person. One page, in French, sold with a transcription and translation, 5.4 x 8 inches, mounting traces on verso, otherwise in excellent condition.  ALSO INCLUDED is a small postcard with a portrait of the composer, from the early 1900s, 3.4 x 5.5 inches, some silvering, in good condition.

Autograph letter handwritten and signed by him, 4 x 5.25 inches. Presumably from around 1841, sent to a Mr Mauroy, Secretary of the Royal Court of Paris. Bold, clear writing and signature, some folds, otherwise in excellent condition. Donizetti refers to an appointment.  Provided with the envelope (5 x 2 inches) handwritten by Donizetti, and a vintage print of the composer. A full translation into English is also included

Wonderful, larger size autograph music quote, from an unknown piece, inscribed and dated by him in 1845, sold together with a fine, original etching of the composer, by Albert Rosenthal, 1888. Autograph music quote is 8 x 6.4 inches, central vertical fold, in excellent condition. Etching is 7.6 x 10.75 inches, overall rust toning covering most of the etching except the right border, a very nice piece to frame with the music quote if desired, in very good condition.

American TV film actor (1931-2006), active between 1959-2006. Fantastic black-and-white photograph signed and inscribed by him with a short sentiment, shown as Exidor in the TV Series "Mork & Mindy".  Size is 4.8 x 6.8 inches, in excellent condition.
