Danish composer (1909-1996) and teacher, who created a vast number of works including 13 symphonies, 20 string quartets, one opera, numerous concerts, etc. many in neoclassical style. Autograph music quote signed by him, handwritten on a card and attached with a small photograph of the composer. On verso, there is another signature of the composer and a short sentiment note ("To Hans Roest, from") above it. Size is 4 x 5.75 inches, in excellent condition.

Set of two promo photographs of the trio signed by Sherman Holmes, Wendell Holmes, and Popsy Dixon -all of them original members of the trio.  Photographs are 9.8 x 8.8 inches and 7.9 x 9.75 inches in size, pinholes on borders, both in very good condition. Typed letter in English signed by him, dated August 16, 1934, to Arturo Toscanini: “…I see by an announcement made in the London newspapers today that you have agreed to conduct two concerts for the British Broadcasting Corporation in May of next year, and I am wondering whether it would be possible for you to also conduct the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra if I am able to bring it to London at about the same time…”.  Size is 7.9 x 9.9 inches, 2 typed pages in one sheet (front and back), with letterhead, central fold, staple holes at the upper-left corner, in overall very good condition.

Gorgeous autograph music quote with 11 bars from a song for voice and piano, signed by him and dated in 1874, inscribed to his sister-in-law, Lulu Gerstäcker, in Vienna. Size is 5.25 x 8.5 inches, in excellent condition.

Very unusual and unique item - a lock of hair from the celebrated American contralto (1871-1947). It is contained in a 4.25 x 2.7-inch envelope with her signed initials on the outside of the envelope. Rare and of interest to any collector of historic opera memorabilia!
