Autograph letter in Italian (untranslated) signed by him, dated August 26, 1883, who, while in Saint Petersburg (Russia), writes to his friend Giunti for some business affairs. Size is 4 x 6 inches, 2 written pages in one sheet (front and back), some ink marking over the top, in overall very good condition.

Italian tenor (1853-1916), one of the greatest stars of the last decades of the 19th century. Marconi had a very important international career, and, starting in 1903, he was one of the earliest tenors to leave a recorded legacy. Large signed photo, shown in role (probably in the title role in Spartaco, opera by Pietro Platania, a role he created in the world premiere of this opera in Naples, just 10 days earlier (March 29th, 1891). Inscribed to conductor Carelli, and dated in Naples on April 7th, 1891. A photo by D`Alessandri brothers, Rome, 8.6 x 15 inches!, some small holes on borders made by nails, damaged corners, otherwise very good - still, a magnificent item to look at, and very rare.
