Russian ballet master (1880-1944), who joined Diaghilev's ballet in 1919 as a leading dancer; a continuous dancer partner to the star ballerina Anna Pavlova. Set of 5 unsigned photographs of the dancer mounted on a photographer mat each, by photographers Bendel and Fisher (Moscow, St. Petersburg). Sizes range from 5.25 x 9 inches to 7 x 10 inches, mounting traces on the verso, minor damages on the verso, and photos on the brown mats were trimmed from a larger format, and in very good condition. French actress (1928-2017), singer, screenwriter, director, and socialité, and considered as one of the leading actresses of the Comédie-Francaise. A fine color promo photograph signed by her. Size is 4.75 x 6.75 inches, in excellent condition.

French composer (1809-1881). Fine autograph letter in French signed by him, dated in Marseille, 1859, to Mr. Sylvain Saint Etienne:  "... I thank you very much for all that you have said so kindly to me in your charming feuilleton of the Union which you have sent me. My quartet seems to have produced some effect at the Sivori session, I think I can judge so by the articles in the music journals France Musicale and the Gazette Musicale. (...) I gave Boinclos a long time ago a quintetto which he promised to engrave, and the separate parts of which are to be at home in Paris, probably in your hands." The qualities of Morel are fully expressed in the field of chamber music, a genre for which he was awarded the Chartier prize three times by the Academy of Fine Arts, in 1863, 1874 and 1877. Size is 5.2 x 8.2 inches each page, 3 written pages in one folded sheet, folds, creases, in overall very good condition.

Large signed album page with attached photograph of her in the role of Brunnhilde in Wagner's Ring Cycle, dated in Munich in 1913. Bold handwriting and signature. This includes a 3.5 x 5.25 inch photo postcard by A. Baumann mounted onto soft cardboard, total item size is 8 x 10.5 inches, very attractive vintage item in excellent condition.

The debut was successful and the critics were full of praise for her beautiful voice as well as her beauty. Signed photo postcard as Senta in Wagner's Der Fliegende Holländer.
