New Zealander conductor (1928-2009), particularly associated with the Sadler’s Wells opera company, also performed at Covent Garden and other European opera houses, became the chief conductor of the Mannheim orchestra in 1977. Signed photograph stamped on verso by photographer Houston Rogers, London. Size is 4.5 x 6.25 inches, small creases on top and bottom left corners, otherwise in very good condition.

American classical music conductor (1907-1987), pianist and accompanist of the Norwegian soprano Kirsten Flagstad. Signed photo shown young, inscribed and dated in 1936. Signature's ink is a bit faded but still visible, photo stamped on verso by photographer George Maillard-Kesslere, New York. Size is 7.25 x 9.5 inches, in very good condition.

Italian conductor (1882-1967) and Choir master, founder of Ente Orchestrale Adriese in 1932. Autograph letter in Italian (untranslated) signed by him and dated 1933 requesting a musical collaboration with Teatro alla Scala. Size is 8.6 x 11.4 inches approx., 2 written pages, central fold, overall rust and dirt stains, in very good condition.

Dutch conductor (1871-1951), famous for his performances of Beethoven, Brahms, Mahler and Strauss with the Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam. Fine black-and-white photograph signed by him in March 1910 mounted on a larger mat. Total size is 8 x 11 inches (opening size is 4.5 x 7.25 inches), in excellent condition.

American conductor and violinist (1916-1999), considered one of the greatest violinists of the 20th century.   Signed album page, dated in 1941. Also included: two signatures on verso, of both Ettore Panizza, Argentinian conductor and composer (1875-1967), and Maria Barrientos, Spanish Soprano (1884-1946), also dated in 1941. Size is 6 x 7.75 inches, very slight rust at the top left of the verso page, otherwise in excellent condition. 

Italian conductor (1881-1953), pianist, and founder of the San Francisco Opera.  Signed photo shown young, inscribed and dated in 1925; also signed in white ink on front by photographer Fifler, San Francisco,  Size is 7.6 x 9.75 inches, in excellent condition.

Fine photo postcard signed by him, with a long text written by him in German on verso, dated in Nassau, 1912.  Size is 3.4 x 5.4 inches, in excellent condition. Handwritten note translates "The greatness in a musician, like Beethoven, lies not in his music, but in his humanity, and enormous inner wealth which is able to transform in musical sound and thus bring enjoyment to his fellow men.  December 1912, Nassau."

All in Italian, sold untranslated, letters are each in one page, 8.5 x 11 inches, personal cards are each 4 x 2.5 inches, and greeting cards are 5.75 x 6.75 inches each, all in very good condition.

Celebrated Austrian conductor (1856-1911), also composer and later teacher. A specialist in Wagner´s music, Mottl assisted Richter in preparing the first run of the complete Ring cycle in the first Bayreuth Festival in 1876. Autograph note signed and dated by him in 1906, on a medium size cardboard card with the letterhead from the Royal Theater of Bavaria, in German, sold untranslated. Size is 6.5 x 5.5 inches, in excellent condition

Austrian conductor (1856-1911) specialist in Wagner's music who assisted Richter in preparing the first run of the complete Ring cycle in the first Bayreuth Festival in 1876. Black-and-white photo postcard signed by him. Size is 3.5 x 5.4 inches, postal markings on verso, in very good condition.

German-born conductor (1859-1940) who based his career principally in Europe and mostly in opera. Fine photo postcard signed by him with a short 5-bar music quote dated 1898. Size is 5.5 x 3.6 inches, in excellent condition.

Autograph letter in Italian signed by him, dated in Pisa,1897, to a friend:  "... Yesterday evening I returned from Venice, where I attended the premiere of Nemea by [Ernesto] Coop, our dear friend, and I can assure you that the success was splendid. Yesterday I passed through Florence, where I found your dear letter – I am writing at once to Ferdinando on the subject – he hoped that through you we could have the internal place for Arturo – I am sure that you will have done everything in your power to favor me, so let it be from this moment on that I am obliged to pay with you the seven and fifty lire per month that are necessary (if in doing this you will see that it will be possible to profit by and I thank you sincerely for the great kindness shown to me on this and other occasions..." Size is 5.2 x 8.1 inches, 2 written pages in one sheet (front and back), spotted rust stains, central fold, creases, in overall very good condition.

German conductor (1915-1990). Nice playbill for a performance of the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra conducted by Karl Münchinger at Teatro Municipal, Lima (Peru), on May 2nd, 1953, signed by the conductor and other members of the orchestra. Size is 6 x 11 inches, in very good condition.

Star Italian conductor (b.1941) and conductor of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and famous French actor (b.1948), active in the Film industry since 1965. Double signed photo shown in rehearsal. Size is 8 x 10 inches, in excellent condition.

Italian composer and conductor (1821-1890), lifelong friend and only student of Giuseppe Verdi. Muzio toured extensively as a conductor, giving first performances of several Verdi operas in France and in the USA. In the early 1870s, Muzio became the conductor of the Theatre Italien in Paris, which was experiencing financial difficulties (referred in the present letter) that led to its closure later in the decade. Autograph letter to an unidentified impresario (probably the director of the Theatre Italien in Paris, signed by him. Muzio writes in length about an upcoming tour featuring Verdi´s Messa da Requiem, expresses concern about an apparent lack of organization, rehearsal time, and choristers of the tour´s inception in Brussels. He relays Mr and Mrs Verdi´s recommendations about the Italian Theatre in Paris, a performance of the Requiem in Versailles, and a costume designer. In French, sold with a transcription and a translation, dated in Milan in 1875. Six pages in folio format, each one is 4.4 x 6.9 inches, in very good condition.

American conductor (b.1951) and opera administrator, currently Music Director of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra since 2006, and General Music Director of the Hamburg State Opera since 2015.  Larger size color photograph signed by him, shown in performance.  Size is 8.25 x 11.7 inches, in excellent condition.

Famous Czech-born conductor and composer (1839-1916), Napravnik settled in Russia and conducted the world premiere of operas by many famous composers (Mussorgsky, five operas of each Tchaikovsky and Rimsky-Korsakov, etc).  Nice Russian mini-cabinet photo signed by him on verso, where he dated in 1894. Size is 2.5 x 4.25 inches, back is in excellent condition, front has minor wear and rust stains but is in very good condition. Very rare!
