Italian bass who sang in Rome, Modena, and in other Italian opera theaters during the 1890s and 1900s.  Large signed photo mounted on a mat, shown in role, inscribed and dated in Modena, Italy, 1895.  Total size is 10.6 x 16.25 inches, actual photo is 7 x 14.25 inches, top border of the mat is missing but the photo itself is complete, with a minor loss of paper over the upper-left margin, otherwise in very good condition.

Argentine soprano (1896-1969), who enjoyed a major opera career centered in Italy during the 1920s and 30s. Large signed photo, shown as herself, also signed by photographer T. Tevigliani, inscribed and dated in Barcelona, 1926. Size is 10.3 x 14 inches, in very good condition.

Argentine soprano (1896-1969), who enjoyed a major opera career centered in Italy during the 1920s and 1930s.  Beautiful photo signed by her and inscribed to "Casa Americana", dated in Buenos Aires, 1930.  Size is 8.4 x 10.9 inches, small loss of paper over lower-right corner, some dirt over borders, in very good condition.

Russian bass-baritone and opera director (1877-1952), signed photograph, shown as Mephistopheles in Gounod's Faust, inscribed and dated in 1914. Size is 3.25 x 5.25 inches, small bends, otherwise in very good condition. 

Italian tenor (1840-1897) who enjoyed a successful career in opera during the second half of the XIX century; creator of the role of Turiddu in Mascagni's opera Cavalleria Rusticana. Fine original cabinet photo of him by photographer Montabone (Milan) signed and inscribed by Stagno with a short sentiment dated in Madrid, 1891. Size is 5 x 7.25 inches, minor damage in all four corners, otherwise in very good condition.

American soprano (1914-1990) and Swedish tenor (1925-2017). Beautiful black-and-white photograph signed by both artists, shown in performance. Size is 7 x 9.2 inches, in excellent condition.

Danish tenor (1827-1906), who developed an important career in Europe 1852-85 performing over 140 roles, then dedicated his life to teach and compose. Signed half-tone photo playbill, shown as Lohengrin, announcing a performance of his opera "The Gipsy Bride". Size is 5.5 x 9.5 inches. Item has 2 barely visible folds, otherwise in excellent condition.

Austrian soprano (1899-?).  Larger size mat with a photograph of her, signed, inscribed to Max Ast, and dated in Vienna, 1927.  Blind stamp on front by photographer Atelier Ingret, Vienna; and also signed in pencil below by the photographer.  Total size is 9.25 x 12.75 inches, actual photo is 6.7 x 9 inches, some silvering on edges, otherwise in excellent condition.

Canadian soprano (b. 1938) and Finnish baritone (1934-2013), double signed  photograph, shown as Susanna and the Count, respectively, in Mozart's Nozze di Figaro. Stamped on verso by photographer Schaffler, Salzburg. Size is 4 x 5.75 inches, in excellent condition.

German composer (1864-1949) and conductor, best known for his tone poems and operas; considered a successor of Wagner and Liszt. Beautiful half-tone photograph (probably from a program or magazine) of the Berlin premiere in 1911 of Richard Strauss' opera "Der Rosenkavalier" signed by the composer himself and other eight artists, mounted on soft cardboard. Size is 10.75 x 6.7 inches, some wrinkles, cracks, and rust stain at the center, all signatures are clearly visible, and in overall fair condition. Star Spanish mezzo-soprano (1895-1936), very famous in her time in Europe and America, sadly died giving birth at age 40, and her autographs are quite rare.  Signed half-tone photo (a page from a program), shown probably in role. Size is 5.8 x 7.4 inches, in very good condition.

Star Australian soprano (1926-2010), famous for her contribution to the Bel Canto renaissance in the 1950s and 1960s and her splendid voice and Spanish tenor (b.1939), a leading interpreter of Italian and French lyric tenor roles from the 1960s to 1990s.  Double signed photograph, shown in roles in Massenet's Esclarmonde. Very rare photo of all of these great artists together! Size is 8 x 10 inches, in excellent condition. 

Swedish operatic tenor (1904-1964), considered the leading Tristan and Siegfried of the first decade following World War II. Amazing black and white photo postcard signed by him, shown in the title role in Siegfried, by Wagner. Size is 3.5 x 5.5 inches, very good condition.

Bulgarian soprano (1900-?), signed photograph, shown either as herself or possibly in role, inscribed in Venice in 1933. Photographer signature stamped on verso and printed on the front. Size is 9.25 x 11.75 inches, some bending and paper loss on the edges of this cardboard photo, otherwise in good condition.

German tenor (1836-1901), actor and opera director, one of the most famous singers of the Golden Age of operetta. Svoboda appeared in the world premieres of several operettas by Offenbach, Strauss II and von Suppé. Signed CDV or carte-de-visite photograph, with his signature on verso, inscribed to storyteller Armin Friedman and dated in Stuttgart, 1900. An original photo by Hermann Brandseph, Stuttgart, size is 2.5 x 4 inches, in excellent condition.

American mezzo-soprano and entertainer (1900-1969), famous for her interpretations of Carmen and her participation in several films, and her husband Frank Chapman, also an American opera singer (dates unknown), whom she met when they both performed at the American Opera Company in Chicago. Beautiful photograph shown as themselves, signed and inscribed by them; stamped on verso by photographer Alfredo Valente. Size is 7.5 x 9.5 inches, slight paper loss at top right and crease on bottom left, otherwise in good condition.

American soprano (b.1959), well known for her coloratura roles; and American tenor (b.1957), associated with the Italian and French repertory, who received a Richard Tucker Award in 1988. Signed photograph, shown in Romeo et Juliette, opera by Gounod, at The Metropolitan Opera. Size is 8 x 10 inches, in very good condition. Nice item!

Belgian-born mezzo-soprano (1875-1957), with a long career in both opera, musical comedy, and operetta. Large photograph shown in the title role of Bizet's Carmen -her best known operatic role which she performed on over 300 occasions. Photo is signed and inscribed with very clear handwriting and signature by the mezzo-soprano. Size is 6 x 8 inches, beautiful vintage photo in excellent condition.

Belgian-born mezzo-soprano (1875-1957), with a long career in both opera, musical comedy, and operetta. Signed photo, shown in the title role of Bizet's Carmen, her best known operatic role which she performed on over 300 occasions. Inscribed with very clear handwriting and signature, dated in 1925. Size is 8 x 10 inches, some wear on edges, otherwise in excellent condition.
