French playwright (1908-1970), considered to be a representative of the Theatre of the Absurd. Hand-cut card signed and inscribed by him with a short sentiment, including an address over the bottom of the card. Size is 6 x 3.25 inches, in overall excellent condition.

American writer (1866-1944), syndicated newspaper columnist, and playwright who gained notoriety in the early 1900s with his "Stories of the Streets and of the Town". Original envelope signed by him (postal markings indicate the year 1935). Size is 5.3 x 3.4 inches, in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED is a small card with his image and his facsimile (printed) signature.

Brazilian writer (1912-2001) of the modernist school, and remains the best-known of modern Brazilian writers. Regular postcard with the image of the Porta Pia in Ancona, Italy (not shown), signed by him on verso with a short sentiment. Size 4 x 5,75 inches, postal markings on verso, some ink-writing by a third hand, in overall very good condition.

French literary figure (1840-1913) and director of the Theatre Francais. Autograph letter signed by him, dated January 11, 1879, addressed to the dramatist, theater director, and actor Hilarion Ballande (1820-1887), about personal matters. Size is 4.1 x 5.1 inches, in excellent condition.

French writer (1923-2010), known for his novels and works for young people, as well as his anti-war stance. Typed letter signed, addressed to unidentified female recipient. Written in French, sold untranslated. Size is 6 x 8.25 inches, in excellent condition.   

Argentine writer and filmmaker (b.1939). Fine color photograph signed and inscribed by him in Vienna, 2011. Size is 4.9 x 7 inches, in excellent condition.

French writer (1821-1885), journalist, and librettist of comic operas. Autograph note in French (untranslated) signed by him, no date, and addressed to a gentleman, concerning a meeting. Open size is 8.1 x 5.2 inches, 1 written page in one folded sheet, rust and dirt stains, folds, creases, in overall very good condition.

Madagascar-born French writer and director (1902-1985). Typed letter in French (untranslated) signed by him, dated in Paris on Feb 10th, 1967. Size is 8.25 x 10.6 inches, 1 written page, in excellent condition.

American radio and TV journalist (1921-2020); active between 1939-2007. Fine black-and-white photograph signed and inscribed by him with a short sentiment. Size is 7.1 x 9.2 inches, in excellent condition.

German bass and writer (1894-1914), unsigned mini-cabinet photo, shown as himself. Photo by Ernst Milster, Berlin. Size is 2.5 x 4.1 inches, in excellent condition.

Prominent American writer and editor (1931-2023) who was at various times the editor-in-chief of the Simon & Schuster and Alfred A. Knopf publishing houses and of The New Yorker magazine. Typed note signed on the New Yorker letterhead with handwritten signature, rejecting a proposed article solicitation for the magazine, dated in 1990. Size is 4.5 x 7.25 inches, very small crease on top right and one fold, otherwise in excellent condition. 

French playwright (1854-1913) and songwriter. Short autograph note in French (untranslated) signed by him, no date [postal markings indicate 22-2-08], where he addresses the composer and lyricist Henri Bresles (1864-1924): "Alors, cher ami, et sans plus tarder, faites une grosse réclame...".  Size is 4.5 x 7 inches, 1 page, creases, dust stains, in overall excellent condition. The original envelope is ALSO INCLUDED.

French playwright (1854-1913) and songwriter. Partly-printed document signed by him, dated in Paris, May 18, 1885, by which he gives his approval for the performance of his one-act comedy "Oscar Bourdoche" (1884) at the Théâtre de la Renaissance.  Size is 8.2 x 10.5 inches, evident folds, creases, overall rust tone, otherwise in very good condition.

American novelist (b.1955), politician and actor, best known for his popular legal thrillers.  Beautiful photo signed by him, shown young.  Size is 4.9 x 7 inches, in excellent condition.

Austrian writer and actor (b.1953). Black-and-white promo photograph signed by him, shown young. Size is 9.75 x 7.9 inches, in excellent condition.

English dramatist (1793-1873). Signature cut of the dramatist (probably a clip from the bottom of a letter), mounted on a piece of soft paper. Size is 7.4 x 1.6 inches, minor cracks, in good condition.

French dramatist (1848-1926), and critic. Autograph letter in French signed by him, not dated, to Monsieur Larochelle, concerning some theater seats. Size is 5.3 x 8 inches, folds, creases, overall age toning, with letterhead, in good condition.

English author (1862-1960), and also a poet and dramatist. Card signed by the author mounted on a larger piece of paper with a newspaper article about his death, dated December 30th, 1960. Size is 8.4 x 9.4 inches, in excellent condition.

French poet (1837-1901), and librettist, author of many opéra-comique librettos, including Saint-Säens' "Henry VIII" (1883). Autograph note in French (untranslated) signed by him, dated June 10, 1887, to a gentleman, thanking him for a present, saying he would ask to D'Auber to write an article on his "XV pièce de mariage". Size is 4.5 x 7.1 inches, 1 page, central fold, in very good condition.
