Field Marshal and General of the British Army (1832-1914) who became one of the most successful British military commanders of his time. Autograph note signed by him as "Roberts" dated 1905. Size is 4.5 x 6.9 inches, 1 page, in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED is an unsigned photo postcard of him.

French politician (1831-1913), writer, journalist and politician, founder of the of the newspaper “L’Intransigeant” in 1880. Autograph letter in French (sold untranslated) signed by him, dated 1908, to the French writer Jeanne Loiseau-Lapauze, wife to the art critic Henry: "... I have no news of the famous portrait, but I suppose it is installed in your little Palace. Judging by your charming verses, I guess your loan is at least as attractive as that of Fontainebleau...". Open size is 9.6 x 6.6 inches, two written pages in a folded sheet, overall rust stains, folds, otherwise in very good condition.

American businessman and politician (1908-1979) who served as governor of New York between 1959 and 1973. Typed letter with the letterhead of the Executive Chamber of the New York State signed by him and addressed to the American bass-baritone George London, dated September 26, 1962.  Size is 7.2 x 10.4 inches, 1 page, in excellent condition.

American political figure (1884-1962) who served as the First Lady of the USA from 1933 to 1945, during her husband President Franklin D. Roosevelt's four terms in office.  Typed letter with her home letterhead, signed by her, dated June 25th, 1947, about a book she received as a gift.  Size is 5.1 x 6.5 inches, 1 page, storage holes over the upper border, central fold, in excellent condition.

American statesman and politician (1882-1945), who was the 32nd President of the United States from 1932 until his death in 1945. Large signed photo, an original print by Harris & Ewing, inscribed, signature is on the mat. Size is 12 x 16.25 inches, photo is 9 x 13 inches (visible window size), overall age toning with some minor cracks on mat, otherwise in very good condition.

American politician (1882-1945) and world figure, who served as the 32nd President of the United States until his death (1933-1945). Roosevelt led the United States through all the difficult years of the financial crisis of the 1930s and WWII. Gorgeous signed photo on glossy photo paper, inscribed, size is 7.4 x 9.4 inches, minor cracks, otherwise in very good condition. ALSO INCLUDED is a 3rd party authentication letter (from JSA services).

Argentine general (1778-1850) and the primary leader of the southern and central parts of South America's successful struggle for independence from the Spanish Empire. A wonderful note written in Spanish signed by the General at the bottom of the manuscript and by Ignacio Barceló. In this document, the Argentine leader speaks about Chile and recommends Jose Ignacio Barceló (father of the Chilean jurist Jose Maria Barceló 1835-1887) from the Chilean army to become part of San Martin's army. Size is 8.5 x 12 inches, 1 page, folds, overall rust tone, some small holes, in overall very good condition. ALSO INCLUDED is a 2-page article in English about this manuscript written by History experts, plus an English translation of the manuscript. This is a very important document for both Argentina and Chile.

German politician (1918-2005) and former chancellor of West Germany between 1974-1982. Time magazine front cover signed by the politician, featuring an interview with him, issued on June 11th, 1979 (not full magazine - cover only).  Size is 8.1 x 10.8 inches, label residues over the lower-left corner, some wear, otherwise in very good condition.

American politician (1854-1932) and part of the Democratic party from 1890-1920, serving as minority leader of the U.S. House of Representatives between 1903-1908. Fine black-and-white photograph signed by him with a very long sentiment; blind-stamped on the front by photographer Harris & Ewing, Washington, D.C.  Size is 7.25 x 9.6 inches, some cracks on borders, in overall very goo condition.

British naval intelligence officer (1764-1840). His signature cut (probably the bottom of a letter or document) mounted on a larger piece of paper. Size is 8.1 x 1.75 inches, in very good condition.

British former Princess of Wales (1961-1997) and first wife of Charles, Prince of Wales (b.1948). Beautiful black-and-white photograph signed by her, dated in 1988.  Size is 7.8 x 9.9 inches, authentication sticker on verso, in excellent condition. Bold Princess Diana signature across, signed simply as "Diana" in black ink with a felt tip pen, shown young, in a formal event. ALSO INCLUDED is a Certificate of Authenticity by Global Authentics. 

American journalist (b.1934) and social-political activist. Black-and-white photograph signed and inscribed by her with a short sentiment. Size is 7.9 x 9.9 inches, minor stains, in overall excellent condition.

American politician and diplomat (1900-1965), served as the 31st Governor of Illinois from 1949 to 1953, was the Democratic nominee for President of the United States in 1952 and 1956 and later served as the United States Ambassador to the United Nations from 1961 until his death in 1965. Typed note signed on his 1952 presidential campaign stationary with handwritten signature. Also included: the original letter to which he responded (see scans). Size of typed note is 6 x 9.5 inches, several folds, in excellent condition. 

German aero-engineer and test pilot (1898-1993) who worked as director of the Madras Institute of Technology, and played a crucial role in the development of the Indian airforce. Heinz Conradis' book "Forschen und Fliegen: Weg und Werk von Kurt Tank" (Research and Fly: Kurt Tank's Path and Work) signed and inscribed by Kurt Tank on the frontend page in Bangalore, October 28, 1960. The book was written in German, published by Musterschmidt-Verlag, 396 pages, size is 5.5 x 8.25 inches, hardcovers, dustjacket, some wear and cracks on the dustjacket, some rust in the initial pages, the rest in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED are four photographs of Mr. Tank and alongside Indian president Jawaharlal Nehru.

Witty Christmas card signed by the two former Prime Ministers (Wilson signs twice) and three more politicians (Howell, Varley and Prentice). Trifold card that opens to a size of 7.6 x 15.75 inches, in excellent condition.

British politician (1925-2013) who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom between 1979-1990; and German politician (1918-2015) who served as the chancellor of West Germany from 1974 to 1982. Fine color photograph signed by both politicians, shown during a conference. Size is 8 x 6 inches, in excellent condition.

Royal British aircraft which fought in World War II. Card signed by eleven members of the crew. Size is 6.5 x 9.1 inches, in excellent condition.

French statesman and historian (1797-1877), second elected President of France and first President of the French Third Republic. Large signed photograph (21 x 27.25 inches !), also hand signed by famous photographer Leon Bonnat (1833-1922) - his portraits of Victor Hugo and Louis Adolphe Thiers are among his most famous works. Size of the actual photograph without the mat around (inside the golden borders) is 13 x 17.5 inches. The actual photo print is in excellent condition, original photographer mat has some loss of paper on corners, overall aging coloration and some stains. There is a clear crease over the left border, but is still in very good condition. This is a rare, large size item! See scans of item and detail of the signatures.  

Set of 7 signed photos of different American politicians including: Edward Koch (1924-2013), Eugene McCarthy (1916-2005), Hubert Humphrey (1911-1978), Thomas Eagleton (1929-2007), Bella Abzug (1920-1988) and Leidy Johnson (1912-2007). Each one is 8 x 10 inches, except Johnson's which size is 5.8 x 7.9 inches. All in very good condition. SOLD ONLY AS A LOT, NOT SOLD SEPARATELY.

Fantastic album that belonged to the English palaeographer and amateur historian Emma Elizabeth Thoyts (1860-1949) with many autograph letters and clips signed by different personalities of the Victorian era including Queen Victoria and her husband Prince Albert, King Henry IV, King William IV, Princess Christiane (Queen Victoria's daughter), Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli and many other personalities of the United Kingdom. Album has a larger number of items (for a more complete list of the items identified please give a look at the last scans provided) and it is signed by Mrs. Thoyts on the back of the front cover, dated 1875.  Album's size is 9.8 x 11.75 inches, in very good condition.

Fine color photograph signed by him, ink-stamped on verso by photographer M. Wenzel-Jelinek, Vienna. Size is 4 x 6 inches, in excellent condition.

American lawyer and politician (1782-1852) who represented New Hampshire and Massachusetts as a Congressman. A receipt signed by him, size is 9 x 6 inches, in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED is a photograph of his portrait (size is 6.5 x 8.5 inches), plus a certificate of authenticity by the American Museum of Historical Documents, and a plaque with his name and dates.

American Air Force officer (1923-2020) and record-setting test pilot who in October 1947 became the first pilot in history confirmed to have exceeded the speed of sound in level flight. Nice black-and-white photograph signed by him. Size is 9.8 x 7.9 inches, in excellent condition.
