Autographed Memorabilia — Opera Programs Collection

Star Spanish tenor (1927-1999), widely known for his interpretations of Bel Canto roles and French opera.  Signed publicity sheet for a record store public autograph signing at the Barnes and Noble record and bookstore in New York, dated in 1980. Size is 6 x 9 inches, noticeable crease in middle, otherwise in very good condition. 

Program for a recital at Theatre de Champs Elysees, Paris June 18th, 1986. Size is 15 x 23 cm, 12 pages + insert, excellent condition.

Program for a recital of the celebrated American tenor in Chicago in 1949 signed by him on the front cover and his pianist Stuart Ross over the right border. Size is 6.1 x 9.4 inches, 4 pages, in very good condition.

Program for a concert performance of the American tenor with pianist Theodore Paxson in Pasadena (California), on October 10th, 1945, signed by both artists on the front cover.  Size is 6 x 8.9 inches, full program with all pages and covers, in very good condition.

Program for a performance of Verdi's Il Trovatore at Teatro La Scala, Milan, on December 15th, 1970, signed by tenor Flaviano Labó, soprano Rita Orlandi-Malaspina, mezzo-soprano Fiorenza Cossotto, bass Ivo Vinco, and conductor Giuseppe Patané, plus one unidentified artist. Size is 6.7 x 9.3 inches, full program with all pages and covers, in excellent condition.  

Danish tenor and actor (1937-2024), later known as singing teacher and  director of the Opera Academy in Copenhagen from 1980 to 1994. Signed publicity brochure, showing him in a variety of roles, signed and inscribed on cover page, dated in 1972. Six folded pages total, size of each page is 4 x 8.25 inches, in excellent condition.

Star Italian tenor (1892-1979), one of the greatest voices of the first half of the 20th century. Booklet promoting his career, signed by him on the third page, inscribed with sentiment and dated in 1931. 4 pages (first two somewhat trimmed), size is 6.75 x 8.75 inches, in very good condition.

Program for a recital of the Australian soprano at SPAM -Sociedad Pro Arte Musical, Havana, Cuba, on November 11th, 1947, signed by her.  Size is 5.4 x 8.6 inches, 1 sheet printed on both sides, in excellent condition.

Original program for a recital by the soprano Marjorie Lawrence assisted by pianist Charles O'Neill at the Fulton Chapel, University of Mississippi, Oxford, Mississippi, on October 1 & 3, 1946, signed by Lawrence on the cover. Size is 5.5 x 8.5 inches, 4 printed pages in 1 sheet, some ink writing with additional information, in very good condition.

Program for a performance of Strauss' Daphne & Salome at Teatro Colón, Buenos Aires, Argentina, on September 12th, 1940, signed by the soprano on the photos page.  Size is 6.25 x 9 inches, minor rust stains, in very good condition.

American soprano (1926-2012) and American bass-baritone (1928-2006), photo signed by both singers, shown as themselves on a concert playbill. Size of photo is 7 x 9 inches, mounted on soft cardboard, total item size is 8 x 10 inches, in excellent condition.  

American soprano (1926-2012) and American bass-baritone (1928-2006), signed concert program signed by both singers, from a concert recital at Queens College, City University of New York during the 1970-71 season. 4 page program, containing photos of both performers, shown as themselves, as well as the complete list and titles of each of the pieces performed. Signatures and photos are on the cover page. Size of each page is 8 x 10.75 inches, in excellent condition.  

Program for a concert at the Town Hall in 1938, signed in pencil on the front cover by the celebrated soprano.  Size is 5.8 x 8.9 inches, 14 pages, central fold, in very good condition.

Program clip for a performance of Tannhauser at the Chicago Civic Opera, in the early 1930s. Signed by both artist, size is 6.5 x 6.25 inches, in very good condition.

Program for a performance of Verdi's Un Ballo in Maschera at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, on October 25th, 1952, signed by the main characters plus Constantina Araujo and Frederick Dalberg on the cast page.  Size is 4.75 x 7.4 inches, full program with all pages and covers, in excellent condition.

Program for a concert conducting "Die Meistersinger von Nurnberg" at Teatro Colon, Argentina, 1958. Size is 6 x 9 inches, signed on photo page, full program in excellent condition.

Ukrainian-born American mezzo-soprano (1945-2007), later a distinguished voice teacher at Carnegie Mellon University. Signed photo on concert program for 1985 recital in Tunja, Colombia. Inscribed with sentiment. Size is 6.8 x 9.7 inches, in excellent condition.

Opera Magazine issue from August 1995 dedicated to James Levine, signed by him on the front cover by the star American conductor.  Size is 5.5 x 8.5 inches, full magazine with all pages and covers.

Program for the Met Opera Guild annual luncheon, April 17th, 1996, featuring James Levine on the cover, where he signed. Full program with all pages and covers, approx. 8 x 11 inches, excellent condition.

Original program for a performance of the soprano at Hotel Suburban on three different dates in 1927 and 1928, signed by her matted with a beautiful black-and-white photograph of her in role mounted on a mat. Total size is 18.25 x 15.5 inches, in excellent condition.

Swiss-born Star Italian tenor (1968-2011), signed playbill for a 1999 performance of Verdi's La Forza del Destino at La Scala, Milan. Size is 7 x 10.5 inches, in excellent condition. 

Program for a performance of Verdi's requiem at the Philadelphia Academy of Music in Memoriam to conductor Eugene Ormandy, on May 12th, 1985, signed by the four soloists on the front cover.  Size 6 x 8.8 inches, 8 pages plus covers, in very good condition.

Program for a recital of the celebrated American bass-baritone at SPAM -Sociedad ProArte Musical, Havana, Cuba, on November 26th, 1954, signed by him on the program page.  Size is 5.4 x 8.6 inches, 4 pages, in excellent condition.

Italian tenor, signed 3.5 x 5.5 inch photograph, shown as himself, dated in 1966. Also included: 1 page 8 x 11 inch cast list of Metropolitan Opera 1967 performance of Otello in which he sang Cassio with his signature at the right side of the page.. Both in excellent condition, not sold separately.

French operatic tenor of Corsican origin (1903-1978) and Bulgarian mezzo-soprano (1905-1979).  Double signed program of a 1933 performance of Verdi's Aida at the Academie Nationale theatre, full program with all page and covers, photos of each of the artists as themselves is on one of the earliest pages, dated in 1933. Size of each page is 5.25 x 7 inches, item is in excellent condition. 

Program for a recital of the star German mezzo-soprano at Wigmore Hall, London, on October 13th, 1993, signed by her on the back of the front cover and by her pianist Charles Spencer on his short biography. Full program with all pages and covers, size is 8.25 x 10.5 inches, crease on the upper-right corner, otherwise in excellent condition.

Program for a recital at Avery Fisher Hall, New York, February 27th, 1974. Size is 20 x 27 cm, 8 pages from the program + insert, very good condition.

Gorgeous poster for a performance of Hector Berlioz's opera Les Troyens, a benefit performance for the Metropolitan Opera Guild on October 22, 1973, conducted Rafael Kubelik; signed by Christa Ludwig and Jon Vickers. Size is 40 x 60 inches, in excellent condition.

Italian tenor (1898-1980), signed program of a 1933 performance of Bizet's Les Pecheurs du Perles at the Paris Opera Comique. Full program with all pages and covers included, with the artist's signature attached to a photo, shown as himself, located on one of the earlier pages. Size of each page is 5.25 x 7 inches, in excellent condition.

Original program for a performance of Gounod's opera Roméo et Juliette in Chicago, on November 4, 1944, under the baton of Fausto Cleva, signed by Jeanette MacDonald, Michael Bartlett, Stephan Ballarini, Lucielle Browning, Henry Cordy, and Brooks Dunbar on the central page. Size is 8.3 x 10.75 inches, full program, in very good condition.

Vintage promotional brochure signed and inscribed by the Italian baritone with a short sentiment on the first page. Size is 6.3 x 9.4 inches, 4 printed pages in 1 folded folio, in very good condition.

Turkish Cypriot bass (1945-2016), awarded the honorary title of State Artist by the government of  Turkey for his contributions to Turkish culture in 1998. Signed 6 page brochure/booklet containing 12 photos of him in role and 1 as himself on cover page with signature on both the cover page, and additional signature and inscription on inner page,  dated in 1976 in Istanbul. Size of each page is 6.25 x 9 inches, in excellent condition. 

Recital in Rosario, Argentina by the famous Argentinian soprano (1897-1977), full program 4.5 x 5.5 inches, signed on page 2 where her bio is. Some damage in the back cover, otherwise very good.

Four-page program for a recital by the New Zealand-born lyric soprano and bass, who toured together extensively in their country during the 1930s and early 1940s. Program has Yvonne´s signature on page 1, over her photograph, and Nino´s signature on top of his photograph, on page 3. No date mentioned. Size is 8.5 x 11 inches, central fold and minor stains, in very good condition.

Program for a recital of the Italian tenor in Minnesota (USA), on December 10, 1934, signed by him on the front cover. Size is 6 x 8.9 inches, 4 pages, in very good condition.

Program for a recital of the famous Italian tenor at the Westchester County Center, New York, on October 29th, 1937, signed by him on the front cover. Size is 6.8 x 9.8 inches, full program with all pages and covers, some stains on the front cover, some mounting damage on the back cover, otherwise in excellent condition.

Program for a concert in Washington, 1935, signed on front cover by both artists. Size is 5.9 x 9 inches, 14 pages plus covers, storage holes, in very good condition.

Croatian soprano (1922-2010) and German tenor (1915-1986), group of two signed programs from performances of Tosca presented by the Vienna State Opera in 1953. One program is signed by Martinis only (from a performance with a different tenor), the other by both performers (Martinis' first name is spelled as Karla on both programs). Each of these items consists of 4 6 x 8.25 inch pages, and includes a cover page, cast page and 2 page synopsis (in German, untranslated), signatures are on the cast page. In excellent condition, not sold separately. 

Program for a concert in Boston, 1930, signed on program page by the famous soprano. Full program with 72 pages and covers, including a newspaper clip about this concert. Size is 5.5 x 8.6 inches, in very good condition.

Program for a recital of the Austro-Hungarian soprano in Buffalo, New York, 1928, signed by her on the program page and also by her pianist Edward Hart. Size is 6.75 x 10.4 inches, 4 pages, minor cracks, in overall very good condition.

Program for a recital of the Austro-Hungarian soprano in Dresden, March 22, 1911 signed by her. Size is 9 x 11.75 inches, 4 pages, central fold, in very good condition.

Program for a performance of the Hungarian-born soprano in Vienna, on October 17, 1910, signed by her over the top of the first page. Size is 8.7 x 11.4 inches, 4 pages, some water stains, minor cracks, storage holes, in good condition.
