Star American composer and conductor (1918-1990). Bernstein was the first conductor born and educated in the US to receive world-wide acclaim, and is known for conducting the NY Philharmonic Orchestra for years and some of his compositions. Signed photo, framed together with a cast page from an original program for the inaugural night of the Philharmonic Hall in 1962!. This concert Hall is today known as Avery Fisher Hall at the Lincoln Center and is the home of the New York Philharmonic. Also performed that night was the World Premiere of Connotations for Orchestra, piece composed by Aaron Copland on commission for this important event.
