French soprano (1846-1926), associated with the Paris Opera, Opera-Comique, Carl Rosa Opera in the UK and later in the United States where she lived and taught singing. Specialy noted for her interpretations in Carmen. Signed card with a sentiment, dated in 1879, she included her second husband´s last name (Mapleson, James Henry (1830-1901), the leading opera impresario from England). Card is mounted on a mat with photo of her in role. Size is 4.75 x 2.75 inches, for the card and 3.75 x 5 inches, for the photo, in excellent condition.
