French soprano (1875-1941), signed cabinet photograph, shown in title role of Bizet's Carmen, inscribed and dated in 1898. Signed and inscribed on verso. Photograph by Paul Boyer, Paris. Size is 5.25 x 8.5 inches, some paper loss on bottom left of front side, otherwise in very good condition.

French soprano (1846-1926), later known as "Marie Roze-Mapleson", reflecting her second marriage to James Mapleson, one of the sons of James Henry Mapleson, a noted impresario in London and New York. Signed cabinet photograph, shown as herself, photo by Bradley and Rulofoso photographers, San Francisco. Signed as "Marie Roze-Mapleson". Size is 4.25 x 6.5 inches, in excellent condition.

Belgian soprano (1903-?), who developed an important career at La Monnaie. Signed photograph, shown in role, inscribed. Blind stamped by photographer Studio Sevilla, Brussels. Size is 6.75 x 9.25 inches, in excellent condition. 

American contralto (1890-1975), signed photograph, shown as herself, inscribed and dated in 1926. Blind stamped on front and printed signature on verso of photographer Edwin Townsend, New York. Size is 7.5 x 9.5 inches, some silvering but otherwise in excellent condition.

German soprano (1876-1955), signed photograph, shown in title role of Richard Strauss's Elektra, inscribed in Leipzig, dated in 1917. 4 x 5.75 inch photo with solid wood backing is mounted onto soft cardboard, total item size is 9 x 11.25 inches, small chips on right side of cardboard, otherwise in very good condition. 

Dutch baritone (1885-1959), signed photograph, shown as Kurvenal in Wagner's Tristan und Isolde, inscribed. This is a "double autograph" photo with a signature on both the 4 x 5.75 inch photo (which is matted onto soft cardboard) as well as on the matted area beneath. Photograph by A. Mocasigay, Hamburg. Total item size is 7.5 x 11.5 inches, some silvering on the photo, otherwise in excellent condition. 

German-Czech bass (1878-1944), of Jewish ancestry, died in a Nazi concentration camp in Lodz, Poland. Signed photograph, shown as himself, inscribed in Vienna, dated in 1927. 6.25 x 8.75 inch photo mounted onto soft cardboard, total item is 9 x 12.5 inches, small crease at bottom left of cardboard, otherwise in excellent condition. 

Italian soprano (1889-?), signed photograph, shown most likely in role, dated in Milan in 1936. Clear and bold handwriting and signature. Size is 9.25 x 11.5 inches, small bullet holes and wear on far edges, otherwise in excellent condition.

Austrian soprano (1841-1908), signed half-tone photograph, shown as herself, inscribed and dated in 1899. 4 x 5.5 inch photo mounted onto soft cardboard, total item is 9 x 11.5 inches, her handwritten text is directly beneath the photo. Small stain at bottom left edge of cardboard, otherwise in excellent condition. 

talian baritone (1902-1990), signed photograph, shown as himself, inscribed and dated in 1934. 6.25 x 8.75 inch photo mounted on soft cardboard, total item is 9 x 11.5 inches, His writing begins on bottom left of photo and continues onto the surrounding cardboard. Stamped on verso by photographer Roberto Baccarini, Milan, in excellent condition. 

Italian tenor (1852-?), signed photograph, shown in title role of Wagner's Lohengrin, inscribed and dated in 1894. 6.75 x 11,5 inch photo mounted onto soft wood, total item size is 7.5 x 12.5 inches. Photograph by Montabone photographers, Milan, in excellent condition.

Italian tenor (1859-1915), starred in 1889 in the world premiere of Puccini’s opera ‘’Edgar" at La Scala, Milan, singing the title role. Signed photograph, shown as himself. This is a 5.25 x 8.25 solid cabinet photo mounted onto an album page, total item size is 9.5 x 12.25 inches, his signature and inscription is on the front right side of the album page, composed at a tilted angle, dated in Lisbon in 1892. There is also an additional inscription and signature of an unidentified individual on verso. There are several smudges on the album page, not affecting the written portion, photo itself has a few smaller smudges on various edges not affecting his image, otherwise in excellent condition. Rare and attractive historical item!

American soprano/mezzo-soprano (1867-1950), very attractive signed cabinet photograph, shown in role, inscribed and dated in Vienna in 1900. Also contains signatures of photographer Szekely on both front and verso. Size is 4.25 x 6.5 inches, vintage item in excellent condition!

Italian baritone (1893-1954), signed photograph, shown as the Count di Luna in Verdi's Trovatore, inscribed. 5.5 x 8.5 inch is mounted on soft cardboard, total item size is 9 x 11.25 inches, signature and inscription are at the bottom of the cardboard, below the photo, as is also the blind stamp by La Fototecnica photo studio, Verona. Small bullet holes and creases at various edges of the cardboard, photo itself is in excellent condition.

Italian soprano (1881-?), signed photograph, shown most likely in role, inscribed. 7 x 9.25 inch photo mounted onto solid cardboard, total item size is 7.5 x 11 inches, the right side of the cardboard is trimmed, photo itself is in excellent condition. Bold handwriting and signature, attractive vintage item!

Italian soprano, large signed photograph, shown in role in Wagner's Die Walkure at the Teatro Communale, Florence, dated in Florence in 1910. Photo is 7 x 9.5 inches mounted onto 8.5 x 11.75 inch solid cardboard, the signature is on the bottom right side of the cardboard, not on the image. Attractive carved signature of photographer E. Telussich, Hof Photographers on verso along with smaller printed photographer signature on the front.  Small bumps on various edges of the cardboard, otherwise in excellent condition. Attractive - and quite rare - historic item!

German tenor (1836-1901), actor and opera director, one of the most famous singers of the Golden Age of operetta. Svoboda appeared in the world premieres of several operettas by Offenbach, Strauss II and von Suppé. Signed CDV or carte-de-visite photograph, with his signature on verso, inscribed to storyteller Armin Friedman and dated in Stuttgart, 1900. An original photo by Hermann Brandseph, Stuttgart, size is 2.5 x 4 inches, in excellent condition.

German soprano (1888-1976), typed letter signed, on her home letterhead in Santa Barbara, California. 1 page in English, dated in 1970, size is 5.5 x 7.75 inches, in excellent condition.

Famous American tenor (1897-1982), very active at the Metropolitan Opera in the 1930s and 40s. Autograph note signed, dated in 1948, 1 page written in English. Size is 7.25 x 10.25 inches, in excellent condition. 

Famous Italian tenor (1913-1995), known for Italian lyric roles. Typed letter signed, 1 page in English, dated in 1947. Size is 8.5 x 10.75 inches, small creases on bottom left and top right, otherwise in good condition. 

American baritone, actor and radio personality (1896-1960), who performed about 600 performances in leading roles at the Met Opera. Typed letter signed, 1 page, dated in New York in 1949. Size is 7.25 x 10.5 inches, in excellent condition. 

French tenor (1806-1896) and singing teacher, known as the creator of the role of Edgardo in the world premiere of Lucia di Lammermoor (1835). Autograph letter signed, 2 pages on both sides of a 6.25 x 8.5 inch sheet, written in French, dated in Paris in 1845, some small stains and creases on edges, otherwise in good condition. Also included: 1 one page 8 x 11.75 inch page containing both typed French and German transcriptions of the letter, in excellent condition.  

English bass-baritone and composer of songs (1801-1876), active from the 1820s to the 1840s.  Autograph letter signed, 1 page written in English on the first page of a folded 4-page document, most likely written in 1844 at a time when he was visiting the United States. In this letter, he mentions the composition "The Falls of Niagara". Size of each page is 7.75 x 9.5 inches, small creases and tears on several edges, but otherwise in good condition.  ALSO INCLUDED is a 4.25 x 6.75 inch print containing a photographic reproduction of Phillips, in excellent condition. Not sold separately. 

French mezzo-soprano Pauline Viardot (1821-1910), 1 autograph letter signed by her, 2 pages written on both sides of a 5.5 x 8.5 inch sheet, written in French sold untranslated, some ink stains and spots but in otherwise good condition,  Also included: 1 autograph letter signed by her husband French theatre director, writer, art historian and translator Louis Viardot (1800-1883). Written on1 page of a 2 sided 8 x 10.25 inch sheet, written in French, sold untranslated, and composed on the stationary of the Theatre Royal Italien in Paris (a theatre he managed) dated in 1839. Small stains and bullet hole on various edges of the document but in otherwise good condition. Not sold separately. 

French mezzo-soprano (1821-1910), short autograph letter signed, 3 pages of text written on the first three pages of a folded 4-page document, dated in 1900. Written in French, sold untranslated but with an additional brief French language biography and summary of contents (not scanned). Size of each page is 4.5 x 5.25 inches, some Scotch tape on blank back page, otherwise in excellent condition. 

French mezzo-soprano (1821-1910), autograph note signed, 1 page of text written on the first page of a folded 4-page document. Written in English, size of each page is 5.25 x 8.5 inches, small crease on bottom left of first page and small stain on blank back page, otherwise in excellent condition. 

French bass-baritone (1877-1962), starred in the 1905 world premiere performances of Franco Leoni's L'Oracolo. Autograph letter signed, 2 pages (text is on the first and final page of a folded 4 page document), dated in London in 1909, written in French, sold untranslated. Size of each page is 6.5 x 8.25 inches, in excellent condition. 

French soprano (1858-1942), starred in the world premieres of Mascagni's L'Amico Fritz, as well as Massenet's La Navarraise and Sapho. Autograph note signed, 2 pages of a 4 page folded document, written in French, sold untranslated. Extremely bold and clear handwriting and signature. Size is 5.25 x 7 inches, in excellent condition.  

Italian baritone (1885-1963). Autograph letter signed, 1 page written in English on his personal letterhead, dated in 1948. The letter consists of his professional recommendation of the baritone, Jack Epstein, in response to Epstein's application to open a voice studio for the teaching of aspiring opera singers. Bold handwriting and signature. This letter is solidly mounted onto a durable 7.5 x 10.75 inch piece cardboard and is in excellent condition. 

Danish tenor (1868-1931), particularly known in his time for his performances of Wagnerian heroes. Signed text quote from "In Fernem Land" the third act aria of Wagner's Lohengrin, dated in Vienna in 1923. Size is 3.5 x 6.25 inches, some wear on edges, otherwise in very good condition. 

French bass (1868-1933), who starred in the world premiere performances of Arrigo Boito's Nerone. Autograph note signed on a 3.5 x 5 inch card, written in Paris, dated in 1929. Written in French, sold untranslated. Small stain on top right, otherwise in excellent condition.

Irish baritone (1865-1936), autograph letter signed, 2 pages written in English on the stationary of the Grand Hotel Bellvue in Berlin. 4 page folded document (text is on the first and fourth page), size of each page is 5.5 x 8.5 inches, very small tear on far right of first and third pages and creases on  top right and bottom left of these pages, otherwise in excellent condition. 

Catalan tenor (1863-1933), well-known for his remarkable performances in Wagnerian roles. Autograph note signed, 1 page written in Spanish, dated in Lisbon in 1907, sold untranslated. Verso page contains an Autograph musical quote signed from Italian conductor and cellist Luigi Mancinelli (1848-1921), also dated in Lisbon in 1907. Size is 4.75 x 7.5 inches, in excellent condition. 

German contralto and teacher (1875-1944), autograph letter signed, 4 pages, written in German, sold untranslated, dated in Koln in 1925. Written to a close friend, and therefore signed with the familiar phrase "Deiner Ricki" rather than her full name. Each page is 5.5 x 7.25 inches, in excellent condition.

Italian-born English opera singer and teacher (1793/1796 – 1856), often referred to simply as Signor Crivelli, who became principal professor of singing at the Royal Academy of Music upon its foundation in 1823 until his death. Autograph letter signed, dated in 1843, 2 pages of a 4 page folded document, written in English. Each page is 7.5 x 9 inches, clear and bold handwriting, slight rips and tears, otherwise in very good condition

French tenor (1867-1962). Autograph note signed, dated in Paris in 1900, text is on the first page of a folded 4.5 x 6 inch document, written in French, sold untranslated. Bold handwriting and signature, in excellent condition. 

Italian soprano (1811-1869), creator of the role of Adalgisa in Bellini's Norma, who also created roles in the world premiere performances of Bellini's I Puritani, as well as Donizetti's Don Pasquale and Marina Faliero. Autograph note signed, one page of a folded 4-page document written in French, mentions "I Puritani" in the text sold untranslated. 4.5 x 7 inches unfolded, small smudges on blank final pages, otherwise in excellent condition. 

4 pages from an autograph album containing signatures of English soprano Louisa Pyne (1832-1904), her sister Susanna Pyne (1821–86) was also an accomplished singer, Czech baritone Johann Baptist Pischek (1814-1873), Italian conductor Enrico Bevignani (1841-1903), Italian baritone Enrico Delle Sedie (1824-1907), Belgian bass-baritone, conductor and composer Luigi Agnesi (1833-1875), and several other performers. Each page is 5.25 x 7 inches, in excellent condition. 

French soprano (1857-1930). Autograph letter signed, 1 page of a 4.5 x 7-inch document, written in French (sold with a handwritten English translation). Very clear handwriting and signature. In excellent condition. 

American soprano and film actress ‬(1882-1967),‭ ‬who was a superstar in her time. Lot of 2 autograph letters signed and 2 autograph notes signed, each containing envelopes, most dated in 1963, item size is 6.25 x 7 inches, with additional loose autograph letter signed, 4 pages of text, dated in 1940, this item is 5.75 x 8.75 inches . ALSO INCLUDED: one 3  x 3.75 inch signed personal card, dated in 1964. All items are in excellent condition. SOLD ONLY AS A LOT, NOT SOLD SEPARATELY.

Famous American soprano and actress (1898-1947), who helped popularize opera by taking it to a bigger audience through movies. One (1) autograph letter signed, 4 pages of text in English written on the stationary of the Robert E. Lee Hotel in Jackson, Mississippi, mostly written in Pen, but final section (including signature only as "Grace") in pencil. Size is 6 x 9.5 inches, in excellent condition. Also included: 1 typed letter signed on personal letterhead, dated in 1939, 7 x 10.5 inches, in excellent condition. Not sold separately. 

Super star Italian soprano (1843-1919), one of the greatest singers of the 19th century.   Autograph letter signed, written on both sides of each of two 3.5 x 4.5 cards (4 pages total), dated in 1886, each card is attractively embossed with "APN" insignia on the top left. Text is in English, but there is also a typed English transcription, a folded 8.5 x 11-inch document. Attractive historical item, in excellent condition. 

French bass (1851-1914), one of the most acclaimed basses of the Golden Age of Opera. Autograph letter signed, 2 pages written in French, sold with a separate English translation (which also contains a transcription of the original French text). Clear and bold handwriting and signature and excellent penmenship on the translation as well. Size of original document is 4.5 x 7 inches, translation document is 5.5 x 8.5 inches, in excellent condition.   

Italian soprano Adelina Patti (1843-1919), who remains as one of the most famous sopranos in history and French tenor Ernesto Nicolini (1834-1898). Double signed album page, inscribed with sentiment, dated in 1891.  On verso there is a signature and personalized inscription of Mathilde Bauermeister, German soprano/mezzo-soprano (1849-1926), bold handwriting and signature, dated in 1896. All text from each artist is in English. Size is 6.5 x 8.25 inches, in excellent condition.
