All Newest Opera Autographs

Italian baritone (1855-1927). Autograph note signed, 1 page, written in English, size is 4.5 x 7 inches, very slight tear in the middle of the document, otherwise in excellent condition. 

English boy soprano, bass and composer (1780-1848), later a famous voice teacher. Autograph note signed, 1 page in English, size is 4.5 x 7.25 inches, small creases on edges and rust stains and missing paper on back pages without text, but in otherwise good condition.

Spanish soprano (1887-1960), typed letter signed, on the letterhead of the Grand Hotel et Des Iles Borromees in Streasa, dated in 1954. 1 page, written in English, size is 6 x 8.25 inches, in excellent condition. 

American soprano/mezzo soprano (1861-1949), autograph note signed, written in Engish, dated in London in 1897, one 8 x 10 inch page with several folds and small rust on top, bottom, and verso but in otherwise good condition. 

Irish baritone and later leading music teacher and administrator (1865-1936), most famous in the formal concert and oratorio repertoire. Set of 2 autograph musical quotes signed, one with translated text taken from an old Hungarian song, dated in 1893, sized at 4.5 x 7 inches, the other on a 6 x 7.5-inch document, dated in Hull in 1908. Both in excellent condition, not sold separately. 

Austrian bass-baritone also known as Josip Kaschmann (1847 or 1850 (?)-1925). Autograph letter signed, 2 pages on a folded 4-page document, written in Italian, signed with last name only, and sold with a typed English translation. Original letter size is 5.75 x 7.75 inches with clear handwriting and signature, in excellent condition. 

English soprano (1810-1884), sang in many countries on every continent and was the most widely traveled singer of the 19th century.  Autograph note signed, 1 page in English, size is 4 x 7.25 inches, small tear on the bottom right (not affecting text and signature), otherwise in excellent condition.

English Contralto and theatre manager. Autograph note signed, probably a payments receipt, written in English, dated in 1809. 3.25 x 8-inch item taped to a 4.5 x 8.25 page, small rip on the bottom right (not containing any text), otherwise in very good condition.

Star Swedish soprano (1820-1887), known as the "Swedish Nightingale", she was one of the biggest opera stars of the 19th century.  Handwritten envelope with signatures in both pencil and pen at the bottom and small red seal. Size is 7.5 x 9 inches, some rips and tears on various corners, otherwise well preserved item in good condition. 

American tenor (1889-1954), particularly associated with the Metropolitan Opera of New York and for his later career in Wagnerian roles. Typed letter signed on his personal letterhead in New York, dated in 1936. Size is 8.5 x 11 inches, several small creases and small tears, otherwise in good condition.

American soprano (1850-1891). Long autograph letter signed, dated in 1873, 7 folded pages in English, written on the stationary of Munroe and Company, Paris and New York. Size of each page is 5.25 x 8 inches, very slight tear on one page, otherwise in excellent condition.

Italian tenor (1896-1986), autograph letter singed, hand-written at the Hotel Astor, New York in 1938, written in Spanish, sold untranslated. 2 pages of a folded 4 page document, each page is 5.5 x 6.75 inches, small tear in middle of the page and creases at bottom, otherwise in good condition. 1 unsigned 2.75 x 4.25 inch business card, in excellent condition. Not sold separately. 

American contralto (1892 -1935), performed the role of La Rossa in the world premiere performances of Giordano's Madame Sans-Gene at the Metropolitan Opera in 1915.  Autograph letter signed,  2 pages of a 4-page document with the letterhead of the Hotel Statler in Detroit, written in English. Size of each page is 5.25 x 6.75 inches, in excellent condition.

French bass-baritone (1861-1933), who starred in the world premiere of Massenet's Thais and many other operas. Autograph note signed, 1 page, dated in Paris in 1900, written in French, sold untranslated. Size is 4.5 x 6 inches, in excellent condition.  

English baritone (1870-1957), who sang primarily in concert, husband of Clara Butt.  Autograph Letter Signed, written on personal stationary, 2 pages (of a folded 4 page document) written in English, size of each page is 4.5 x 7 inches, in excellent condition. Also included: a signature cut of 1.75 x 4.5 inches, in excellent condition.  Not sold separately.  

Belgian coloratura soprano (1827-1885), created the role of Philine in the world premiere performances of Ambroise Thomas's Mignon in 1866. Autograph letter signed, dated in 1853, 3 pages, written in French, sold untranslated. Size of each page is 4 x 6.25 inches, small bullet holes, in excellent condition.

German soprano (1885-1955), who developed a very important career in the United States and Europe.  Set of 2 Typed Letters Signed, one 2 page letter, dated in 1933 on purple stationary attractively embossed on top left side, 7.5 x 10.5 inches, the other a one page undated letter, typed in New York, 7.75 x 10 inches. Both written in English and in excellent condition. Not sold separately. 

Italian mezzo-soprano (1860-1926), autograph note signed, 1 page written in French, sold untranslated. Size is 4 x 5 inches, slight creases, otherwise in very good condition.

Star Australian soprano (1861-1931), who became one of the most famous singers of the late Victorian Era and the 20th century for her beautiful voice and technique. Signed album page, written in English, dated on February 25, 1926, identified as "the date of my farewell in Melbourne". Size is 6.75 x 8.5 inches, very small tears on far left of document, otherwise in excellent condition.

Italian tenor (1885-1969), who had a long and very successful career at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, also appearing in many other major international opera theaters. Signed album page, written in Italian, dated in Monte Carlo, dated in 1913. This is mounted onto a unsigned 3.5 x 5.5 postcard (slight paper loss at the top), showing the great artists Enrico Caruso, Feodor Chaliapin and Titta Ruffo. The album page is 4.75 x 7.5 inches, some rust but in otherwise good condition. 

Italian soprano (1811-1869), creator of the role of Adalgisa in Bellini's Norma, who also created roles in the world premiere performances of Bellini's I Puritani, as well as Donizetti's Don Pasquale and Marino Faliero. Autograph note signed, one page, written in French, sold untranslated. Size is 7 x 9 inches, small brown stain on bottom of front page and crease at bottom of the empty back page, but in otherwise very good condition.

American soprano and impresario (1842-1916), autograph letter signed, dated in 1882, 2 pages in English, each page is 4.75 x 7.75 inches, small tears on the right side of each page, but otherwise in very good condition. Also included: signed card written in Italian on side of the card, dated in New York in 1869, size is 2.25 x 6.5 inches, slight rust but otherwise in good condition. Not sold separately. 

Norwegian soprano (1895-1962), one of the greatest Wagnerian dramatic singers of the 20th century.  Autograph note signed, written in English, on both sides of a 3.75 x 5,75 inch card. Very clear handwriting and signature. Contains printed initials on top left. Very small stain on the front page and a smaller one on verso, otherwise in excellent condition. 

French "baryton-martin" i.e. a singer whose tessitura lies between baritone and tenor (1768-1837), who later taught singing at the "Conservatoire de Musique" of Paris, from 1825 to 1837. Created some 15 roles in operas by various composers including Nicholas Dalayrak, Andre Gretry and Etienne Mehul.  Autograph letter signed,  1 page written in French, dated in 1817, sold with a typed French transcription which is followed by a brief biography at the bottom of the transcribed page. The original letter is 7.25 x 9.5 inches, small creases and rust on edges, otherwise in very good condition. The typed transcription is 8.25 x 11.75 inches, in excellent condition. 

French "baryton-martin" i.e. a singer whose tessitura lies between baritone and tenor (1768-1837), who later taught singing at the "Conservatoire de Musique" of Paris, from 1825 to 1837. Created some 15 roles in operas by various composers including Nicholas Dalayrak, Andre Gretry and Etienne Mehul.  Autograph letter signed,  1 page written in French, sold with a typed French transcription, this letter is 7.75 x 9.75 inches, small creases and slight tear on the left side, otherwise in good condition. Also included: notes from an examination given to singing students at the Conservatoire de Musique in 1831. Unfolded exam notes are 10.25 x 14 inches, small creases, otherwise in excellent condition. Attractive handwriting and signature. Not sold separately.

Italian soprano (1877-1955), starred in the world premiere production of Pietro Mascagni's Isabeau in 1911. Autograph letter signed, 2 pages, written in Italian, sold untranslated. Written in Milan, dated in 1935. Size is 6.25 x 8.25 inches, some jagged edges, otherwise in very good condition. 

French tenor (1806-1896) and singing teacher, known as the creator of the role of Edgardo in the world premiere of Lucia di Lammermoor (1835). Autograph letter signed, dated in 1888, 1 page written in French, sold untranslated. Size is 5 x 8 inches, small stains on the front page (well outside of the written area) and mounting traces on verso, otherwise in excellent condition. 

Finnish soprano (1876-1944) who had an international career but became famous mostly in Finland. Autograph note signed written on a postcard. Written in French, sold untranslated. Size is 3 x 5 inches, small creases on edges, otherwise in good condition. 

Italian soprano (1835-1889), and sister of the famed Adelina Patti.  Autograph letter signed,  3 pages of a folded 4-page letter, written in French, sold untranslated. Each folded page is 4.5 x 7 inches, total item unfolded is 7 x 9 inches, some mounting traces on an empty page, otherwise in very good condition. 

South Korean - American soprano (b.1959), signed photograph, shown as Cleopatra in Handel's Giulio Cesare. Photo by Winnie Klotz, Metropolitan Opera, New York. Size is 8 x 10 inches, in excellent condition.  

Austrian soprano (1917-1995), signed photograph, shown in title role of Beethoven's Fidelio. Stamped on verso by photographer Jurgen Simon, Berlin. Size is 3.25 x 5.25 inches, in excellent condition. 

Italian soprano (1915-2007), signed photograph, shown in role. 3 x 5 inch photo postcard mounted onto soft cardboard, total item size is 4 x 6.75 inches, in excellent condition.

American mezzo-soprano (b. 1960) and German soprano (b. 1967), double signed photograph, shown as Cherubino and Susanna in Mozart's Nozze di Figaro. Size is 4 x 6 inches, in excellent condition.
